Kulunu
''Kulunu'' () is a 1994 Maldivian drama film written and directed by Ali Waheed. Produced by Mapa, the film stars Aminath Muneera, Ismail Wajeeh and Aishath Shiranee in pivotal roles. Synopsis Rashid (Ismail Wajeed), a hardworking doctor goes to Addu upon the request of the government where he meets a dedicated nurse, Reema (Aminath Muneera) who spends all her time serving her ill mother. When her mother passes away, Rashid personally takes care of Reema and a romantic relationship begins between them. The couple plan their marriage while his family arranges his marriage with his childhood friend, Nasheedha (Aishath Shiranee). Aishath Shiranee
Aishath Shiranee (born 16 January 1975) is a Maldivian former film actress. Shiranee is the recipient of several awards, including one Gaumee Film Award and three Aafathis Awards. In 2001, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Career While working in a job at Maldives Customs Service, Shiranee made her screen debut with a video single titled "Hithaa Roohun Asaru Kuranee" alongside Ahmed Ghiyas which was followed by several other video songs before making her film debut with the film ''Naseebu'' (1992). Apart from the Abdulla Shujau directed drama film ''Nafrathu'' (1994), Shiranee starred in the Arifa Ibrahim-directed family drama ''Manzil'' (1994) which portrays her as an intelligent and hardworking orphan, whose life takes a dramatic turn while working as a servant in a reputed family. Ismail Wajeeh
Ismail Wajeeh (20 September 1962) is a Maldivian actor and choreographer. Early life While studying in primary school, Wajeeh, along with his nephews used to perform songs and stage shows to small gatherings. While studying in grade 4, he was offered to be part of an English radio drama produced by the Voice of Maldives, titled "The Enormous Turnip". During his secondary education, he played small roles in stage dramas as an extra. In 1982, he got offered by the leading theatre performing group, Cultural and Drama Society (CDS) to be part of their group. Career In 1984, while Wajeeh was working in Television Maldives, he meets the director Mohamed Hilmy, a friend of his brother, who asked Wajeeh if he is interested to be the lead actor of his upcoming film, ''Chuttee'' (1984), to which he agrees instantly. Koyya Hassan Manik
Hassan Ali Manik professionally known as Koyya Hassan Manik (25 April 1953 – 20 February 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career 1989–2008: Early releases and first lead role with ''Ajaaib'' In 1989, Najuma offered him to feature in ''Hama Mihaaru'', one of the programs aired in the Dhivehi Rajjeyge Adu, where he took part in a total of eighteen episodes in a span of three years. During this period, a friend proffered him to star in the television comedy show; ''Bakhabaru'' alongside Fibo Ahmed Manik and continued to star in the show as part of the main cast. The Mohamed Hilmy and Ali Waheed directed film, '' Ihsaas'' was released in 1993 in which Manik starred as a guardian to an orphan boy who is being psychologically disturbed following a false arrest. Rafiyath Rameeza
Rafiyath Rameeza (23 March 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Rafiyath Rameeza was born and raised in the "Rameez family" where several artists including Ali Rameez and Ibrahim Rameez were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. At the age of 12, while studying at Aminiya School, she competed in the Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition and continued to participate in the same competition for more years. In 1993, at the age of seventeen, while studying at Malé English School, Rameeza performed the song "Kaakuhey Mithaahuree" in the competition which fetched the award for best performer from her age category and was ranked in the second place of the competition. Addu City (local administrative code Seenu) is a city in Maldives that consists of the inhabited islands of Addu Atoll, the southernmost atoll of the archipelago. Addu City is the second-largest urban area in Maldives, in terms of population, and is one of the two urban areas to get the status of "city" other than the capital city, Malé, and Fuvahmulah.
