Krč
Krč is a district in the south of Prague, located in Prague 4. It became part of the city in 1922. History Krč ( la, Carrium) was first mentioned in written documents in 1222. During the time of the Hussites, the area was seized by the ''Pražský svaz'', the Hussite denomination from Prague. In 1900, ''Dolní Krč'' (lower Krč) comprised 1,354 inhabitants, a chateau, a brewery and a brickyard, and was part of the Nusle district, while ''Horní Krč'' (upper Krč) and the nearby hamlet Jalové Dvory belonged to Královské Vinohrady. In 1922, when the area became part of Prague, there were 3,700 inhabitants and 323 addresses. Krč today Places of interest in Krč include the neo-gothic Chateau constructed in the mid 19th century, and Thomayer hospital, the largest health facility in the south of Prague. Line D (Prague Metro)
Line D () is a Under construction line of the Prague Metro, which will serve Prague 4 and Prague 12 in the south of the Czech capital. Construction began on the first part of the line in 2022. History Construction of Line D connecting Náměstí Míru with Nové Dvory area was previously intended to start in 2010. An alternative was proposed in 2012, without building a transfer station at Pankrác, and instead sharing Line C between Nádraží Holešovice and Pankrác. The construction of the line was approved by the city of Prague in 2013, and was initially planned to be built between 2017 and 2022. The project involves of track with 10 stations, connecting Náměstí Míru and Depo Písnice. Ivan Olbracht
Ivan Olbracht, born Kamil Zeman (6 January 1882, Semily, Kingdom of Bohemia, Bohemia – 20 December 1952, Prague) was a Czech people, Czech writer, journalist and translator of German language, German prose. Biography The son of writer Antal Stašek and his Jewish-born Catholic convert wife Kamila Schönfeldová. Olbracht studied law and philosophy in Prague and Berlin, he left before graduation, however, choosing the career of a journalist. In 1905, he first began editing a Social democracy, social-democratic workers' newspaper in Vienna (', Historical Papers), where he worked until 1916. When he first began publishing fiction, he primarily focused on stories and novels with a psychological theme. This phase of his writing life coincided with the First World War. His works after the War are an experimentation in blending fiction with real events. Later, he became an editor in Prague (', The People's Right). Antal Stašek
Antal Stašek (born Antonín Zeman) (22 July 1843 – 9 October 1931) was a Czech writer and lawyer. Life and work Stašek was born in the village of Stanový (now part of Zlatá Olešnice) in northern Bohemia. From 1877, Stašek was a successful barrister in Semily. His work is mainly set in the area around the Krkonoše mountains that straddle the today's border between the Czech Republic and Poland. Stašek was heavily influenced by socialism and social justice and was perhaps the first Czech writer to work with these themes. His best known novel is ''Matusch the Shoemaker and his Friends'', published posthumously in 1932. Stašek worked briefly in Mohelnice before moving in 1913 to Prague, where he spent the rest of his life. Line C (Prague Metro)
Line C () is a line on the Prague Metro. It crosses the right-bank half of the city center in the north-south directions and turns to the east at both ends of the line. It is the system's oldest and most used line, being opened in 1974 and transporting roughly 26,900 persons per hour in the peak. The line is long and includes 20 stations, journey from one end to the other taking approx. 35 min. History Segment I.C Construction was started in 1966 on an underground rapid tram line. One year later, the project was changed to a metro line. This segment, leading from Florenc to Kačerov, was opened on May 9, 1974. It is long and includes 9 stations and a train depot at Kačerov.
