Kropáčova Vrutice
Kropáčova Vrutice is a municipality and village in Mladá Boleslav District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants. Administrative parts The villages of Kojovice, Krpy, Střížovice and Sušno are administrative parts of Kropáčova Vrutice. Kojovice forms an exclave of the municipal territory. Geography Kropáčova Vrutice is located about southwest of Mladá Boleslav and northeast of Prague. It lies in the Jizera Table. History The first written mention of Vrutice is from 1385. During the rule of the Kropáč family in the 17th century, the village was renamed Kropáčova Vrutice. Sokol Movement
The Sokol movement (, ''falcon'') is an all-age gymnastics organization first founded in Prague in the Czech lands of Austria-Hungary in 1862 by Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner. It was based upon the principle of " a strong mind in a sound body". The Sokol, through lectures, discussions, and group outings provided what Tyrš viewed as physical, moral, and intellectual training for the nation. This training extended to men of all ages and classes, and eventually to women. Miroslav Tyrš
Miroslav Tyrš (born Friedrich Emanuel Tirsch, in Czech: Bedřich Tyrš; 17 September 1832 – 8 August 1884) was a Czechs, Czech philosopher, Art history, art historian, sports organizer and together with Jindřich Fügner the cofounder of the Sokol movement. Early life Miroslav Tyrš was born Friedrich Emanuel Tirsch to a German doctor in Děčín. The family moved to Döbling near Vienna where his father, mother and two sisters died from tuberculosis leaving Miroslav orphaned at the age of six years. Purism
Purism, referring to the arts, was a movement that took place between 1918 and 1925 that influenced French painting and architecture. Purism was led by Amédée Ozenfant and Charles Edouard Jeanneret (Le Corbusier). Ozenfant and Le Corbusier formulated an aesthetic doctrine born from a criticism of Cubism and called it Purism: where objects are represented as elementary forms devoid of detail. The main concepts were presented in their short essay ''Après le Cubisme'' (After Cubism) published in 1918. Post World War I Le Corbusier and Ozenfant were the creators of Purism. Turnov
Turnov (; german: Turnau) is a town in Semily District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 14,000 inhabitants. It is a traditional centre for gemstone polishing, glass craftsmanship and arts. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. D10 Motorway (Czech Republic)
Motorway D10 ( cs, Dálnice D10) is a motorway in the Czech Republic, running northeast from Prague to Mladá Boleslav and Turnov. It forms part of the European Route European route E65. The sections from Prague have been built since the 1970s and at that time, it was planned to build the expressway to the Polish border, not only to Turnov. The expressway reached Turnov in 1990. In 1993, the government decided that the section Turnov - Polish border would not be constructed. Thus, it is considered to be the first completed expressway in the Czech Republic. Jizera Table
The Jizera Table ( cs, Jizerská tabule) is a plateau and a geomorphological mesoregion of the Czech Republic. It is located mostly in the Central Bohemian Region, northeast of Prague. Geomorphology The Jizera Table is a mesoregion of the Central Bohemian Table within the Bohemian Massif. It is a height-constant denudation plateau divided by erosion notches.
