Christian Krohg (government Minister)
Christian Krohg (15 January 1777 – 10 November 1828) was a Norway, Norwegian councillor of state without ministry in 1814, member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm 1815–1816, Minister of the Interior and Minister of Finance (Norway), Minister of Finance in 1816, Minister of Culture and Church Affairs (Norway), Minister of Education and Church Affairs 1816–1817 as well as head of Minister of Justice and the Police (Norway), Ministry of the Police in 1817, Minister of Education and Church Affairs and Minister of Justice in 1817, Minister of Justice (Norway), Minister of Justice 1817–1818, as well as head of Ministry of the Police in 1818, and councillor of state without ministry in 1818. He served as praeses of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters from 1820 to his death. Krohg was the grandfather of Christian Krohg, the painter. References

Christian Krohg
Christian Krohg (13 August 1852 – 16 October 1925) was a Norwegian naturalist painter, illustrator, author and journalist. Krohg was inspired by the realism art movement and often chose motifs from everyday life. He was the director and served as the first professor at the Norwegian Academy of Arts from 1909 to 1925. Biography Christian Krohg was born at Vestre Aker (now Oslo), Norway. He was one of five children born to Georg Anton Krohg (1817–1873) and Sophie Amalia Holst (1822–1861). He was a grandson of Christian Krohg (1777–1828) who had served as a government minister. His father was a civil servant, journalist and author. His mother died when he was only 8 years old, and his father's sister took over responsibility for the household and the upbringing of the children. From 1861, he attended Hartvig Nissen School. Hilmar Meincke Krohg
Hilmar Meincke Krohg (1 January 1776 – 13 August 1851) was a Norwegian politician and elected official. He served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly. Biography Hilmar Meincke Krohg was born in Trondheim, Norway. He attended the Trondheim Cathedral School and later earned his law degree in 1799 at the University of Copenhagen. He was appointed district governor in Finnmark in 1811. He was subsequently transferred to Nordre Bergenhus Amt (now Sogn og Fjordane), but before he could take office, he was appointed to be the County Governor of Romsdals Amt (now Møre og Romsdal), a position he held until 1840. He was a member of the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814, where he joined the independence party (''Selvstendighetspartiet''). He was also elected to the first session of the Norwegian Parliament in 1814. He was later elected in 1824 and 1830, representing the constituency of Romsdals Amt.

Oda Krohg
Oda Krohg (born Othilia Pauline Christine Lasson; 11 June 1860 – 19 October 1935) was a Norwegian painter, and the wife of her teacher and colleague Christian Krohg. Biography She was the second daughter of public attorney Christian Lasson and Alexandra Cathrine Henriette von Munthe af Morgenstierne. Her maternal grandmother Anastasia Sergeyevna Saltykova was a member of the Russian princely Saltykov that belonged to the high nobility; other members of this family were Field Marshal Prince Nikolai Saltykov and Catherine the Great's lover Sergei Saltykov. She grew up in a liberal-conservative household, along with eight sisters and two brothers. Her brother Per Lasson became a noted composer and her sister Caroline "Bokken" Lasson a singer and writer. Per Lasson Krohg (18 June 1889 – 3 March 1965) was a Norwegian artist. He is best known for the mural he created for the United Nations Security Council Chamber, located in the United Nations headquarters in New York City. Biography Per Krohg was born in Åsgårdstrand, Norway, the son of painters Christian Krohg and Oda Krohg. The family lived in Paris, where Per Krohg grew up. He showed artistic talent early, and studied first with his father (from 1903 to 1907), then with Henri Matisse (from 1909 to 1910). In the early years he worked as a newspaper illustrator and taught tango in Paris. While in Paris, he was also the instructor of future architect Maja Melandsø.
