Krka (Adriatic Sea)
The Krka () is a river in Croatia's Dalmatia region, known for its numerous waterfalls. It is long and its basin covers an area of . It was known in ancient Greek as ''Kyrikos'', or may be also as ''Catarbates'' (literally "steeply falling") by the ancient Greeks, it was known to the ancient Romans as ''Titius'', ''Corcoras'', or ''Korkoras''. Course The river has its source near the border of Croatia with Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the foot of the Dinara mountain. After meandering through the Krčić canyon, it enters the karst valley of Knin through the Krčić waterfall of . At the foot of the second, called the Topoljski waterfall, of these is a spring in a cave with of passage. The river then flows through the valley, where it is fed by the Kosovčica on the left and the Orašnica and the Butižnica on the right, passing the Fortress of Knin between the last two on the way, and into the main canyon. The Krka (; german: Gurk, ; la, Corcoras) is a river in southeastern Slovenia (the traditional region of Lower Carniola), a right tributary of the Sava. With a length of , it is the second-longest river flowing in its entirety in Slovenia, following the Savinja. Name The name ''Krka'' was first attested in written sources in 799 as ''Corca'' (and as ''Gurke'' in 1025, and ''in Gurka fluvio'' in 1249). The Slovene name is derived from Slavic *, based on the Romance name *''Corcra'' or *''Corca'', derived in turn from ''Corcora''. Many rivers had this name, or similar names, in antiquity. The name is believed to be of pre-Romance origin and may be based on onomatopoeia. The Krka ( sr-cyrl, Крка) river is a long tributary of the Una river. It is a border river, constituting natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia for about of its course. It is also important natural feature of the Una National Park. Special Reserve Krka The Krka's entire course together with its abounding wellspring is a part of the National Park Una, protected as a Special Reserve. The river rises at the foot of the specious plateau of Cvijetinić, with eponymous villages Veliki and Mali Cvjetnić. Krka (Drava)
The Gurk (; sl, Krka) is a river in the Austrian state of Carinthia, a left tributary of the Drava. With a length of it is the longest river running entirely within Carinthia. Its drainage basin is , which covers about 27% of the state's territory. The Gurk rises in the Nock Mountains (Gurktal Alps) range of the Central Eastern Alps, near the border with the Austrian state of Styria. Its sources are two small cirque lakes, the Gurksee and the Torersee near Albeck and the Turracher Höhe Pass, a protected area since 1981. Krka () is a settlement in the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica in central Slovenia. It lies near the source of the Krka River, from which it gets its name.
