Kristoffer Kompen
Kristoffer Kompen (born 14 August 1984 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian Jazz musician (trombone) and composer, known for a series of performances and recordings within bands like "Jazzin' Babies" and with musicians like Eirik Hegdal, Eyolf Dale, David Skinner, Håkon Storm-Mathisen and Kåre Nymark. Career Kompen studied music and music education at the Norwegian Academy of Music (2005–11), and also attended the Agder Musikkonservatorium in Kristiansand (2004/2005) and Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm (2007/2008). He has toured several times with Rikskonsertene, various big bands and ensembles, theater productions and a variety of bands in jazz and related music. Compensation has been performed in numerous occasions, including with Kringkastingsorkesteret in Den Norske Opera, August 2011. Marthe Valle (born 29 November 1982 in Harstad, Norway), is a singer and songwriter, living in Bergen. Career Valle released her first solo album, ''It's A Bag of Candy'' (2005), awarded the Spellemannprisen as best newcomer. In addition, she was also nominated for Best Female Artist that year. Oslo International Jazz Festival (Oslo Jazzfestival, established 1986 in Norway) is a Norwegian music event, held in August, with a focus on music form the jazz genre, performed on stages in Oslo. History The pilot project (1984–1985) was initiated by Aage Teigen. The first festival in 1986, had more than forty volunteers and the event received 350 000 Norwegian kroner in donations from Oslo Municipality. Erling Sachs Wicklund (7 June 1944 – 8 August 2019) was a Norwegian jazz trombonist, composer, arranger and journalist, known for a series of jazz programs on NRK. Career Wicklund was born in Göteborg, Sweden, and studied musicology, art history and English at the University of Oslo, composition and arranging at "Dick Grove School of Music" in Los Angeles, and trombone at Musikkonservatoriet in Oslo.
