Kristina Fialová is a Czech classical violist . She is a graduate of the Brno Conservatory (Miroslav Kovář), the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Prof. Jan Pěruška), the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (Prof. Tim Frederikson, Prof. Lars Anders Tomter), and the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden (Prof. Vladimír Bukač). Biography Fialová has been primarily praised by the critics for her technique, impassioned performance and sophisticated musical sentiment. After winning the 2013 Michal Spisak International Competition in Katowice, Poland, she was invited to the major concert stages in Europe. Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra
The Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra (''Janáčkova filharmonie Ostrava'') is a Czech orchestra based in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Named after composer Leoš Janáček, the orchestra performs its concerts at the City of Ostrava Cultural Centre. History The roots of the orchestra date back to 1929, with the establishment of a radio orchestra in Ostrava. In 1954, the orchestra was formally established under the name of the Ostrava Symphony Orchestra, with Otakar Pařík as its first chief conductor under that name, and gave its first concert under that name on 3 May 1954. Czech Radio
Český rozhlas (ČRo) is the public radio broadcaster of the Czech Republic operating since 1923. It is the oldest radio broadcaster in continental Europe and the second oldest in Europe after the BBC. Carlo Antonio Testore
Carlo Antonio Testore (1687–1765) was a Milanese luthier. Life and career Carlo Antonio Testore was born in Milan, the son of Carlo Giuseppe Testore, also a noted luthier, and worked in the family's workshop under the "Sign of the Eagle" on Contrada Larga in Milan. The workmanship and appearance of his instruments is considered rough, but the tonal quality is excellent. One of his basses was owned and played by the noted bassist Giovanni Bottesini. He was prolific, and most active as a luthier from 1715 to 1745. His violincellos are highly prized. Testore's brother Paolo Antonio Testore was also a luthier, and their sons Giovanni, son of Carlo, and Gennaro(?), son of Paolo, continued the family business in Milan during the 1760s. Supraphon Music Publishing is a Czech record label, oriented mainly towards publishing classical music and popular music, with an emphasis on Czech and Slovak composers. History The Supraphon name was first registered as a trademark in 1932. The name was used for the label of domestic albums produced for export by Ultraphon company. Post World War II Ultraphon was nationalized and changed its name to Gramofonové závody. In 1961 the name was changed to Gramofonové závody – Supraphon and later just to Supraphon in 1969. In Czechoslovakia, it was one of the three major state-owned labels, the other two being Panton and Opus. Bergen International Festival ( no, Festspillene i Bergen) is an annual international music and cultural festival in Bergen, Norway. Biography The Bergen International festival is the largest festival in the Nordic countries in its genre and has a large number of activities in music, dance, literature, visual arts, folklore, etc. The festival is held over fourteen days from the end of May to the start of June and is located in numerous places like the Grieg Hall, Haakon's Hall, Troldhaugen, Lysøen, Siljustøl as well as streets and town squares of Bergen. Festival Internacional De Santander
The Festival Internacional de Santander (FIS) is one of Spain's oldest music festivals. Each year, during the month of August it presents two to three operas as well as performances from visiting ballet and theatre companies, solo recitals, and choral, symphonic, and chamber music concerts. Its largest and main performing space is the Palacio de Festivales on the Calle Gamazo in Santander. However, performances are also held in fifty churches, cloisters, and parks both in Santander and in smaller towns in the Cantabria region. From 1952 to 1990 the festival's main performance space was a gigantic tent in Santander's Plaza Porticada. Igor Ardašev
Igor Ardašev (born in Brno, 1967) is a Czech pianist. He studied at the Brno Conservatory as a pupil of Inessa Janíčková, later he pursued his studies at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. He was awarded the 1987 International Tchaikovsky Competition's 5th prize and the 1988 Prague Spring Competition's 3rd prize. He was subsequently prized at the 1990 Maria Callas, 1991 Queen Elisabeth (6th) and 1995 Long-Thibaud (4th) competitions. Ardašev is internationally active as a concert pianist since 1990. He performed on concert tours and recitals in various countries in Europe, America and Japan. He cooperates with the Czech recording label Supraphon, for which he records mainly the arrangements of Czech orchestral repertoire for piano duet, together with his wife Renata Ardaševová. Václav Hudeček
Václav Hudeček (born June 7, 1952 in Rožmitál pod Třemšínem, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech violinist. A former student of David Oistrakh, Hudeček's records have sold many copies in the Czech Republic, especially a 1992 recording of Vivaldi's '' The Four Seasons'', certified platinum. Hudeček also runs an annual academy for promising young Czech violinists. Biography Hudeček studied at the Prague Conservatory. On 11 November 1967, aged 15, he performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. The next day he was heard by the Russian violinist David Oistrakh, and became his pupil from 1970 to Oistrakh's death in 1974. Since his London debut he has appeared in concert at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Suntory Hall, and Osaka Festival Hall.
