Kristina Barrois
Kristina Barrois (born 30 September 1981) is a retired German tennis player. Barrois won 15 singles and 16 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit in her career. On 9 May 2011, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 57. On 20 February 2012, she peaked at No. 55 in the WTA doubles rankings. Early life Barrois began playing tennis at the age of nine in 1991 when she took the sport up herself and began to play at a tennis club. She completed her training as a government inspector at the Saarland Ministry of Justice before turning professional in 2005. Career Barrois was trained by Patrick Schmidt, and later by Andreas Spaniol, and her stamina-trainer was the footballer Bernd Franke. Amélie Simone Mauresmo (; born 5 July 1979) is a French former List of WTA number 1 ranked singles tennis players, world No. 1 tennis player and tournament director. Mauresmo won two Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major singles titles at the 2006 Australian Open – Women's singles, 2006 Australian Open and 2006 Wimbledon Championships – Women's singles, Wimbledon Championships, and also won the silver medal in singles at the Tennis at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's singles, 2004 Summer Olympics and the singles title at the 2005 WTA Tour Championships – Singles, 2005 year-end championships. The Internationaux de Strasbourg (formally known as the Strasbourg Grand Prix) is a professional women's tennis tournament held in Strasbourg, France. It is an International-level outdoor event of the WTA Tour played on clay courts. The tournament has been organized in May since its inception in 1987 and serves as a warm-up event to the French Open which is played a week later. The tournament was played at the Hautepierre before moving to the Strasbourg’s Tennis Club in 2011. She won the singles gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, having previously won the silver medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
