Kristali ( sr-Cyrl, Кристали; trans. ''The Crystals'') are a Serbian pop rock band from Belgrade. History 1990s The band was formed in January 1993, by bassist and vocalist Dejan Gvozden and guitarist Željko Markuš, who, having performed blues and rock standards in Belgrade cafes, were joined by drummer Dejan Kostić. By the time the band had written their first hit song "Dva metra" ("Two Meters"), for which the music video was directed by Milutin Petrović, they had already featured a new bassist Milan Popović, thus leaving Gvozden on the vocal position only. The band was further expanded with the arrival of the former Del Arno Band member Nenad Potije on trombone. During the same year, the band had their first recording, the song "O kako si lepa" ("Oh, How Beautiful You Are"), released on the L.V.O. PGP-RTS ( sr, Produkcija gramofonskih ploča Radio televizije Srbije) is a major record label based in Belgrade, Serbia. It is a successor of PGP-RTB which was established in 1959 in Belgrade, then capital of Socialist Republic of Serbia and Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. After the breakup of Yugoslavia, in 1993, the company changed its name to PGP-RTS, which is the music production branch of the Radio Television of Serbia. VIS Simboli are a fictional band from the Yugoslavian film '' Strangler vs. Strangler''. Fictional history The band was formed by Spiridon Kopicl (played by Srđan Šaper, at the time of the film recording member of the band Idoli, which was also known as VIS Idoli) and recorded only one song, "Bejbi, bejbi", inspired by the experience of Kopicl after seeing a television report on a victim of the Belgrade Strangler. Initially, the song only featured the lyrics "Bejbi, bejbi, hoću da te davim" ("Baby, baby, I want to strangle you") repeated for several times. However, encouraged by the previous experience with the Belgrade Strangler, Kopicl tried to live the role of the strangler, moving around Belgrade streets and eventually expanding the song lyrics. "Beogradski davitelj" became a nationwide hit and was broadcast on the popular music radio show host by Sofija Mačkić (Sonja Savić). Dejan Cukić
Dejan Cukić ( sr-cyr, Дејан Цукић; born November 4, 1959) is a Serbian rock musician, journalist, writer and translator. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, Cukić was the frontman of the new wave band Bulevar, releasing two albums with the band. After Bulevar disbanded in 1982, he dedicated himself to journalism. He returned to music in 1984, when he became one of the vocalists of the rock/pop rock band Bajaga i Instruktori, with which he recorded three studio albums. In 1987, he released his first solo album, and soon after left Bajaga i Instruktori to pursue solo career, which spans to the present day. In 1988, Cukić formed his backing band, Spori Ritam Band. ''Strangler vs. Strangler'' ( sh, Davitelj protiv davitelja) is a 1984 Yugoslav Serbian film featuring elements of comedy, thriller and horror genres. Plot In the mid-1980s Belgrade finally gets its first serial killer: an awkward carnations seller named Pera Mitić ( Taško Načić). Mitić is an overweight 48-year-old man who is in an Oedipus kind of way connected to his aging mother. His mother often punishes him when he does not sell any of the carnation flowers. His punishments include kneeling on nutshells while being slapped by his mother or being locked in the water tank. This is the reason why he starts killing every girl who refuses to buy his flowers. Mitić's character can be compared to Norman Bates's character and relationship with his mother. Slobodan Šijan ( sr-Cyrl, Слободан Шијан, ; born November 16, 1946) is a Serbian film director. Biography Šijan was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Belgrade, and then enrolled in Belgrade's Academy of Theater Faculty of Dramatic Arts in 1970. He directed a number of television films as well as experimental and short films during the 1970s. From 1976 to 1979, he published a series of fanzines which according to him were made "out of frustration" in between his experimentation and attempts to break into professional cinema. Srđan Šaper ( sr-cyr, Срђан Шапер; born October 9, 1958) is a founder of I&F McCann Grupa. He is also well known as a founder and a member of the Yugoslav new wave band Idoli in the 1980s.P. Janjatović, Idoli, YU rock enciklopedija 1960-1967, Beograd, 1998. Biography In March 1979, with friends Krstić and Vlada Divljan, 20-year-old Šaper formed Idoli, a new wave band that quickly became popular throughout SFR Yugoslavia.
