Krista Brodie
Krista Brodie is a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) officer serving as a brigadier general in the Canadian Army. She is currently serving as the Public Health Agency of Canada's (PHAC) vice president of logistics and operations leading the federal government's COVID-19 vaccination distribution program. Military Career Brodie holds degrees in Military Strategic Studies, Defence Studies, National Resource Strategy and a certificate in Global Supply Chain Management. She has been the quartermaster of the Third Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, and was the first woman to command 1 Service Battalion, the largest unit in the Canadian Field Force. She participated in an exchange with the 75th Ranger Battalion. Canadian Forces' Decoration
The Canadian Forces' Decoration (post-nominal letters "CD") is a Canadian award bestowed upon members of the Canadian Armed Forces who have completed twelve years of military service, with certain conditions. By convention, it is also given to the Governor General of Canada upon his or her appointment as viceroy, which includes the title of Commander-in-Chief in and over Canada. The decoration is awarded to all ranks, who must have a good record of conduct during the final eight years of claimed service. The first Governor General to receive the CD was Viscount Alexander of Tunis in 1951. The NATO Medal is an international military decoration which is awarded to various militaries of the world under the authority of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). It is manufactured by Eekelers-Centini Intl, of Hemiksem, Belgium. Background The NATO Medal was first established in 1996 to recognize individuals who had served in the Implementation Force (IFOR) as part of Operation Joint Endeavor in Former Yugoslavia. A new ribbon was established in 1999 for participants in Operation Allied Force in Kosovo. As NATO operations became more common, different ribbons were established for each operation. In early 2003 NATO settled on only three ribbon styles - one for the NATO Meritorious Service Medal, one for Article 5 operations, and one for non-Article 5 operations.
