Ushkovsky
Ushkovsky (russian: Ушковский, formerly known as Plosky) is a large volcanic massif located in the central part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. It is located at the northwestern end of the Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano group. These volcanoes are also set in a chain linked formation. The highest peak of this massif is Krestovsky (4108 m). Krestovsky Island
Krestovsky Island (russian: Крестовский остров) is a 3.4 km2 island in Saint Petersburg, Russia, between several tributaries of the Neva: the Srednyaya Nevka, the Malaya Nevka and the Krestovka. The island is served by the Krestovsky Ostrov station of Saint Petersburg Metro. Until recently, the western part of the island was occupied by the Maritime Victory Park, where the international Goodwill Games of sports and athletics competition took place in 1994, which was the first large scale post-Soviet Union international event in Russia. A new stadium, Gazprom Arena, is located where Kirov Stadium was. The stadium serves as home for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. Meanwhile, the eastern part of this beautiful St Petersburg island, has seen slow but steady urbanization since the early 1900s, which has slowly changed its parkland nature. Yaroslav Igorevich Krestovsky (russian: Яросла́в И́горевич Кресто́вский, February 9, 1925, Leningrad, USSR – 2003, Saint Petersburg, Russia) was a Soviet Russian painter, lived and worked in Leningrad - Saint Petersburg, regarded by art historian Sergei V. Ivanov as one of the representatives of the Leningrad school of painting. Biography Krestovsky was born February 9, 1925, in Leningrad, USSR in family of well-known Leningrad sculptor Igor Krestovsky (1894—1976; see also: Портрет скульптора Игоря Крестовского), a professor of the Ilya Repin Institute. Vsevolod Vladimirovich Krestovsky (russian: Все́волод Влади́мирович Кресто́вский; February 23, 1840 – January 30, 1895) was a Russian writer who worked in the city mysteries genre. Biography Krestovsky came from an old family of Polish gentry (''szlachta'') with roots in nowadays Ukraine. In 1857 he enrolled in the Historico-Philological faculty of St Petersburg University. At the University he became friends with the radical critic Dmitry Pisarev, and wrote for the magazine ''Russian Word''. After his short association with the radical camp, he joined a group of moderate slavophiles which included Apollon Maykov, Lev Mei and others, and began publishing his works in ''Notes of the Fatherland'', ''Time'' and ''Epoch''. In 1860 he left the University to become a professional writer.
