Krasny Avenue
Krasny Prospekt (russian: Красный проспект) or Krasny Avenue is the central street and major thoroughfare in the city of Novosibirsk, Russia. Its length is about 7 km. It runs across the central part of the city starting from the right bank of the Ob River and terminates in the vicinity of Severny Airport. The main square of Novosibirsk - Lenin Square - is a part of Krasny prospekt, as well as Sverdlov and Kalinin squares. Novosibirsk (, also ; rus, Новосиби́рск, p=nəvəsʲɪˈbʲirsk, a=ru-Новосибирск.ogg) is the largest city and administrative centre of Novosibirsk Oblast and Siberian Federal District in Russia. House of Lenin, currently Philharmonic Chamber hall, is a building in Novosibirsk, located at Krasniy Prospect, 32. C. History After the death of Vladimir Lenin the residents of Novosibirsk decided to commemorate Lenin's legacy. On February 10, 1924, it was decided to build a house monument. The funds were donated by the workers of the town. The ground-breaking ceremony occurred on July 13, 1924, and the building was completed in 1926. Originally the building had elements of the Lenin's Mausoleum incorporated into its facade; however, they haven't survived the later reconstructions.
