Krasnoznamensky District (russian: Краснозна́менский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the fifteen in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is . Its administrative center is the town of Krasnoznamensk.Resolution #639 As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 12,905, with the population of Krasnoznamensk accounting for 27.3% of that number. A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as "district" in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast.
