Koval Distillery
Koval Distillery is a craft distillery located in Chicago, Illinois (established in 2008). It is the first distillery within Chicago's city limits since Prohibition. Koval's founders, Robert and Sonat Birnecker, left academic careers to found the distillery, aiming to bring the distilling traditions and techniques of Robert’s Austrian grandfather to America. Certified both organic and kosher, Koval creates award-winning whiskeys, brandies, and liqueurs in their distillery in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago's Northside. The distillery is kosher. Koval (Yiddish for blacksmith) was founded by Robert and Sonat Birnecker. Spirits Koval produces a variety of whiskeys, vodkas, brandies and liqueurs. Goose Island Brewery
Goose Island Beer Company is a brewery in Chicago, Illinois, that began as a single brewpub opened in 1988 in Lincoln Park, Chicago, and named after a nearby island. The larger production brewery opened in 1995, and a second brewpub, in Wrigleyville, in 1999 which later closed in 2015. Their beers are distributed across the United States, and the United Kingdom after a stake of the company was sold to Widmer Brothers Brewery in 2006, and the brewery was able to expand into different markets. Metropolitan Brewing is a brewery located in Chicago, Illinois that was founded in 2008 by (former) husband and wife team Doug Hurst and Tracy Hurst. The brewery was originally located in a converted warehouse in a historically industrial area of the Ravenswood, Chicago, Ravenswood neighborhood in Chicago. In 2017, they moved to a larger facility with a taproom at 3057 N Rockwell Street in Chicago. Metropolitan focuses on brewing lagers in the traditional German style.
