Kottawa Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya is a Buddhist school in Sri Lanka, which provides primary and secondary education. It was founded on 1 February 1970 in Kottawa. Kottawa ( si, කොට්ටාව, ta, கொட்டாவை) is one of the main suburbs in Colombo, Sri Lanka and is administered by the Maharagama Urban Council. It is located from the centre of Colombo. History The name Kottawa is derived from the Sinhalese phrase ''kotten awa'', meaning "The city of greats". Later the name was shortened to "Kottawa". The town was part of the Kottawa Electoral District which existed between 1960 and 1977. Mathurage Don Kusal Janith Perera ( si, කුසල් පෙරේරා) (born 17 August 1990), more commonly known as Kusal Perera, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and a former limited overs Captain of Sri Lanka national cricket team.
