Kost Lavro (born in 1961 near Poltava) is a Ukrainian artist and illustrator. He is a close collaborator with the poet and publisher Ivan Malkovych. Poltava
Poltava (, ; uk, Полтава ) is a city located on the Vorskla River in central Ukraine. It is the capital city of the Poltava Oblast (province) and of the surrounding Poltava Raion (district) of the oblast. Poltava is administratively incorporated as a city of oblast significance and does not belong to the raion. Ivan Antonovych Malkovych ( uk, Іва́н Анто́нович Малко́вич; born 10 May 1961 in , Ivano-Frankivsk) is a noted Ukrainian poet and publisher. He is the proprietor of the publishing house " A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA", which specializes in high quality (often illustrated) editions of Ukrainian literature and poetry, and has been a winner of many industry awards. Biography He completed his studies as a violinist at the Music college in Ivano-Frankivsk before entering Kyiv University in 1978, where he majored in Ukrainian philology. He was noted by poet Dmytro Pavlychko who took him under his wing. Alina Panova
Alina Panova (full name Alina Panova-Marasovich, born Alina Vaksman in Kiev, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian-American film and stage costume designer and producer. Biography Panova was born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1961. She studied art at the Shevchenko State Art School in Kiev, and Cooper Union in New York City, after her family emigrated to the US in 1979. Career In 2006 Panova produced her first feature film, ''ORANGELOVE'' (directed by Alan Badoyev and starring Aleksei Chadov and Olga Makeyeva). The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Family Panova is married to Croatian composer Zeljko Marasovich. She lives in Los Angeles, California. Yuri Makoveychuk ( uk, Юрій Маковейчук, born 1961) is an artist-painter and filmmaker working in the rare field of mannequin animation. Biography Makoveychuk was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1961. He moved to Philadelphia in 1990, and later to New York City. He studied art at the Shevchenko State Art School in Kyiv (his classmates there also included Roman Turovsky and Alina Panova).
