Korukanti Chandar
Korukanti Chandar Patel (born 23 September 1972) is an elected representative from Ramagundam constituency in the Telangana Legislative Assembly. In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, he defeated his nearest rival, Somarapu Satyanarayana, by a margin of 26,090 votes. He played an important role during the late 2000s Telangana Separate State Movement spearheaded by now-CM, K.Chandrashekar Rao, conducting a 48 km Telangana Saadhana Padyatra and subsequently spending 45 days in judicial custody. Early life Korukanti Chandar was born on 23 September 1972, the second child of Lakshmi and Mallaiah. He is an MA Political Science graduate. The Telangana Legislative Assembly or Telangana Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Telangana Legislature. The Legislative Assembly of Telangana currently consists of 119 elected members and 1 nominated member from the Anglo-Indian community. Its chief engineer was Nawab Sarwar Jung. The members of the ''Vidhana Sabha'' are directly elected by people through Universal suffrage, adult franchise. Ramagundam is a city and municipal corporation in Peddapalli district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the most populous city in the district and falls under the Peddapalli revenue division. Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( ; BRS), formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi ( TRS), is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in the state of Telangana. 2012 Telangana Protests
The 2012 Telangana protests were a chain of protests which were part of the Telangana movement. The Bharatiya Janata Party, led by state-party president Kishan Reddy, began the 22-day Telangana "Poru Yatra" – a journey through 986 villages and 88 assembly constituencies stressing the need for a stance on Telangana stance – on 19 January. Although the tour was successful in reiterating the party's pro-Telangana stance, it did not gain the hoped-for support because of the indifferent attitude of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana Joint Action Committee. The TRS' failure to support Reddy's yatra has resulted in increasing differences between the parties. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (born 17 February 1954), often referred to by his initials KCR, is an Indian politician serving as the first and current Chief Minister of Telangana since 2 June 2014.
