Korntal Station
Korntal station is in the town of Korntal-Münchingen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is on the Württemberg Black Forest railway, which is served by the Stuttgart S-Bahn network. It is the starting point of the Strohgäu Railway (german: Strohgäubahn), which is served by the Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (Württemberg Railway Company). History The ''Evangelische Brüdergemeinde Kornthal'' (Evangelical United Brethren of Kornthal) had about 600 inhabitants in the 1860s. The church's estate in Kornthal had been very small district since the Pietist community was founded in 1819. Many of its residents worked away from the community and took advantage of the opening of the Zuffenhausen station on the Württemberg Central Railway in 1846. When the parliament of Württemberg decided to build the Black Forest Railway through the Strohgäu district on 13 August 1865, it was not certain that a station would be established in Korntal. Korntal-Münchingen
Korntal-Münchingen is a town in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated at the northwestern border of Stuttgart and 8 km of its centre, and 10 km southwest of Ludwigsburg. Korntal was begun in the 19th Century when King Wilhelm of Württemberg permitted a group of Württemberg Pietists to erect a settlement based on the settlement congregations of the Herrnhuter Bruedergemeine or Moravian Church. Heckengäu
The Heckengäu is a part of the Gäu, a region in the counties of Böblingen, Calw, Ludwigsburg and Enzkreis in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Part of the landscape in the county of Calw is called Schlehengäu. Hence it is also called the Hecken- und Schlehengäu. Location The Heckengäu lies west of the state capital of Stuttgart. It forms an elongated strip of land, over 50 km long, running from Vaihingen an der Enz in the north to Haiterbach in the south, and covers parts of the counties of Böblingen, Calw, Ludwigsburg and the Enzkreis. Hemmingen, Baden-Württemberg
Hemmingen is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. History The first mention of a settlement at Hemmingen's location was in 991, in document ion naming such a place as a property of Weissenburg Abbey, in Alsace. By the 13th century, Bebenhausen Monastery also had estates nearby. Hemmingen became a fiefdom of the County of Württemberg in the 14th century and control over the area was shared from 1331 to 1444. When the went extinct, the House of Württemberg fully inherited their holdings, which included Hemmingen. Stuttgart Stadtbahn
The Stuttgart Stadtbahn is a light rail system in Stuttgart, Germany. The Stadtbahn began service on 28 September 1985. It is operated by the Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG (SSB), which also operates the bus systems in that city. Weil der Stadt is a town of about 19,000 inhabitants in the Stuttgart Region of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is about west of Stuttgart city centre, in the valley of the River Würm, and is often called the "Gate to the Black Forest".
