Korinos Railway Station
Korinos railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Κορινού, Sidirodromikos stathmos Korinos) is a railway station in Korinos, Central Macedonia, Greece. Located in the centre of the village, it opened on 9 September 2007. It is served by regional trains between Thessaloniki, Kalambaka, Palaiofarsalos and by the Suburban services for Thessaloniki, Litochoro and Larissa. History The station opened on 9 September 2007 on a stretch of the former Korinos-Methoni-Aigini line, which terminated close to the station. In May 2020, due in part to both vandalism and poor maintenance, Georgios Stylos, Head of building infrastructure of OSE was called to meet Korinos's Mayor Costas Grammatikopoulos. Korinos
Korinos ( el, Κορινός) is a town and a former municipality in Pieria regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Katerini, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 70.909 km2, the community 30.726 km2. Korinos has approximately 5000 residents and it is located 5 km northeast of the city of Katerini (Κατερίνη), the capital of Pieria. Motorway 1 (Athens - Thessaloniki) is situated to the west. Korinos is famous for its beaches -lying to its east- and hotels in the area, which make the village an ideal place for tourism. Additionally, Korinos has a public library since 2006. Katerini
Katerini ( el, Κατερίνη, ''Kateríni'', ) is a city and municipality in northern Greece, the capital city of Pieria regional unit in Central Macedonia, Greece. It lies on the Pierian plain, between Mt. Olympus and the Thermaikos Gulf, at an altitude of 14 m. Aiginio (), known before 1926 as ''Libanovo'' (), is a town and a former municipality in Pieria regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pydna-Kolindros, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 75.541 km2, the community 62.246 km2. The population of the municipal unit was 4,869 people and the population of the community was 4,345 people as of 2011. Proastiakos Thessaloniki, or Thessaloniki Suburban Railway ( el, Προαστιακός Σιδηρόδρομος Θεσσαλονίκης, ), is a three-line Proastiakos commuter rail service connecting Thessaloniki's New Railway Station with Edessa/Florina, Larissa and Serres. Kalambaka Railway Station
