Koppio
Koppio is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on the Eyre Peninsula about west of the state capital of Adelaide city centre, Adelaide and about north of Port Lincoln, and within the Tod Reservoir, Tod River catchment area. While long-established agricultural activities dominate (including sheep, cattle and buffalo grazing and wheat cropping) the region is also prospective for graphite and iron ore. The ''Koppio Smithy Museum'' is a local tourist attraction replete with buildings and artifacts representing the early pioneer heritage of Eyre Peninsula. Mining and mineral exploration Companies actively exploring the area early in the 21st century included Eyre Iron Pty Ltd (a joint venture of Centrex Metals) and Lincoln Minerals. Whites Flat, South Australia
Whites Flat (also known as White Flat) is a rural locality in the Eyre and Western region of South Australia, situated within the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula. The boundaries for the locality were formally established in October 2003 for the long established local name; this had originally been named after pastoralist Samuel White. The main feature of the locality is the Tod Reservoir. It also contains the Tucknott Scrub Conservation Park, which lies in its north-west corner. Whites Flat Post Office opened on 1 October 1897 In 1915, Whites Flat was described as consisting of a post office and local hall, the latter simultaneously serving as school, church, dance hall and lecture room, for less than a dozen inhabitants. Edillilie
Edillilie is a small town on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. It is on the Tod Highway and Eyre Peninsula Railway north of Port Lincoln. The town was named after Edillilie Creek. The railway station was originally named Mortlock Siding. It still has bulk grain silos, however passenger service ended many years ago. The grain silos are serviced by Viterra. The Tod Reservoir is located on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, in the localities of Whites Flat and Koppio, 27 km north of Port Lincoln. It is situated on the Tod River, the only stream on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia providing reliable flows; the reservoir is supplied by concrete channels fed from weirs constructed across the Tod River and its major tributary, Pillaworta Creek. The Eyre Peninsula is a triangular peninsula in South Australia. It is bounded by the Spencer Gulf on the east, the Great Australian Bight on the west, and the Gawler Ranges to the north. Centrex Metals Limited is an Australian resources exploration and mining company. History Founded in 2001, Centrex Metals was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2006 with the aim of developing several iron ore projects on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. It also had interests in Western Australia and Queensland. Subsequently, the company sold off its South Australian assets, dissolved its joint ventures, and repositioned itself to be an organic fertiliser producer.
