Edillilie
Edillilie is a small town on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. It is on the Tod Highway and Eyre Peninsula Railway north of Port Lincoln. The town was named after Edillilie Creek. The railway station was originally named Mortlock Siding. It still has bulk grain silos, however passenger service ended many years ago. The grain silos are serviced by Viterra. Edillilie is located within the federal Division of Grey, the state electoral district of Flinders and the local government area of the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula. Wangary, South Australia
Wangary is a town on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, located west of Port Lincoln on the Flinders Highway near Coffin Bay. At the , Wangary had a population of 289. It is located in the cadastral Hundred of Lake Wangary. It surrounds the freshwater Lake Wangary. The government town of Wangary was surveyed in 1871 though never formally proclaimed. It was incorporated into the modern broader locality of Wangary when the boundaries of the latter were formalised in October 2003. The Old Lake Wangary Hotel was built in 1871, and is one of the main surviving structures in town; it has not had a liquor license since 1933, but remains open as a general store. The sports oval and ruins of the former post office (established 1862, closed 1976), coach house and bakery are located nearby. Tod Highway is an important 177 kilometre highway serving South Australia's Eyre Peninsula's wheatbelt, and is designated route B90. It is named after Robert Tod who explored the area in 1839. Cummins, South Australia
Cummins is a town on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, 67 km north of Port Lincoln and 60 m above sea level. At the 2011 census, the town had a population of 719. Cummins was named after William Patrick Cummins, a member of the South Australian House of Assembly from 1896 to 1907. The town of Cummins was developed in 1910 a few years after the first settlers in the area arrived. The railway to Port Lincoln arrived in 1907. The bounded locality of Cummins includes the former railway sidings of Pillana (south of the town) and Wildeloo (north of it). The major industries are sheep farming and cereal grain growing. There was a junction of the narrow gauge Eyre Peninsula Railway within the town. The district covers the southern tip of the peninsula, except for the small area taken up by the City of Port Lincoln. The County of Flinders is one of the 49 cadastral counties of South Australia. The county covers the southern part of the Eyre Peninsula “bounded on the north by a line connecting Point Drummond with Cape Burr, and on all other sides by the seacoast, including all islands adjacent to the main land.” History The county was proclaimed by George Grey, the third Governor of South Australia, on 2 June 1842. Koppio is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on the Eyre Peninsula about west of the state capital of Adelaide and about north of Port Lincoln, and within the Tod River catchment area. Flinders is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after explorer Matthew Flinders, who was responsible for charting most of the state's coastline. Eyre Peninsula Railway
The Eyre Peninsula Railway is a gauge railway on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. Radiating out from the ports at Port Lincoln and Thevenard, it is isolated from the rest of the South Australian railway network. Peaking at 777 kilometres in 1950, today only one 60 kilometre section remains open. It is operated by Aurizon.
