Konstantin Bokov
Konstantin Bokov (born 1940 in Shostka, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian born American artist who creates mixed media assemblages, sculptures, and paintings while most often employing found materials and objects. Biography He is the son of the poet and songwriter Viktor Bokov (1914-2009). He initially studied music at the Art Academy of Leningrad in what is now once.again Saint Petersburg, Russia but soon fell under the spell of the canvases of sunsets by Vincent van Gogh and decided that he wanted to paint. Bokov immigrated the United States in 1975 with his wife and son. He is represented by the Van Den Plas gallery in New York City and also installs works on his own initiative at various locations in his home neighborhood of Washington Heights. Shostka
Shostka (, ) is a city in Sumy Oblast in the north-east of Ukraine. Shostka serves as the administrative center of Shostka Raion. It is administratively incorporated as a city of oblast significance and does not belong to the raion. The city lies on the Shostka River, a tributary of the Desna, from which it gets its name. Shostka is an important centre of industry: in chemicals (see Svema) and in dairy, the Shostka City Milk Plant was recently acquired by the Bel Group. History In 1739, a gunpowder factory was built there. Since that time Shostka was one of the most important gunpowder suppliers in the Russian Empire. In 1893, a branch of a nearby railroad line was built. Shostka was granted municipal rights in 1920. In 1931, a film factory was built in Shostka which was one of the main suppliers of cinema and photo film in the USSR. Viktor Bokov
Viktor Fyodorovich Bokov (russian: Ви́ктор Фёдорович Бо́ков; 6 (19) September 1914 — 15 October 2009) was a Russian and Soviet poet, writer, and collector of folklore. Vincent Van Gogh

Washington Heights is a neighborhood in the uppermost part of the New York City borough of Manhattan. It is named for Fort Washington, a fortification constructed at the highest natural point on Manhattan by Continental Army troops to defend the area from the British forces during the American Revolutionary War. Outsider Artist
Outsider art is art made by self-taught or supposedly naïve artists with typically little or no contact with the conventions of the art worlds. In many cases, their work is discovered only after their deaths. Often, outsider art illustrates extreme mental states, unconventional ideas, or elaborate fantasy worlds. The term ''outsider art'' was coined in 1972 as the title of a book by art critic Roger Cardinal. It is an English equivalent for ''art brut'' (, "raw art" or "rough art"), a label created in the 1940s by French artist Jean Dubuffet to describe art created outside the boundaries of official culture. Outsider Art Fair
The Outsider Art Fair or OAF is an international exhibition that features outsider artists who work in a variety of mediums. It is a biannual fair occurring in New York City and Paris, the former taking place in January and the latter in October. Plans were made for a Basel edition in 2018 to run alongside Art Basel, but has since been postponed until further notice. History The Outsider Art Fair was founded in New York in 1993 by Sanford Smith as a way to help outsider artists exhibit and showcase their work. In 2013 the fair was bought by the art dealer Andrew Edlin through the company Wide Open Arts, LLC. The Outsider Art Fair originated in New York, but under new leadership has been able to expand to Paris, the first edition of which took place in October 2013. Keith Haring
Keith Allen Haring (May 4, 1958 – February 16, 1990) was an American artist whose pop art emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s. His animated imagery has "become a widely recognized visual language". Much of his work includes sexual allusions that turned into social activism by using the images to advocate for safe sex and AIDS awareness. In addition to solo gallery exhibitions, he participated in renowned national and international group shows such as ''documenta'' in Kassel, the Whitney Biennial in New York, the São Paulo Biennial, and the Venice Biennale. The Whitney Museum held a retrospective of his art in 1997.
