Kong Sham Western Highway
Kong Sham Western Highway, formerly known as the Deep Bay Link is a highway in Hong Kong. It is long and has three lanes in each direction. Its northern end is at Ngau Hom Shek, near Deep Bay, and its southern end is at Lam Tei, in Tuen Mun District. Together with the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western Corridor, it forms the Route 10 of the Hong Kong Strategic Route and Exit Number System and provides road access from Hong Kong to the mainland. The link itself consists of 108,000 m2 of deck space over 3,014 segments. History The road was built as initiative from the Crosslinks Further Study, which highlighted the need for another vehicular cross-border link between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Route 10 (Hong Kong)
Route 10 () is a trunk route in the Hong Kong Strategic Route and Exit Number System. It is a dual carriageway with three lanes in each direction, consisting of the Kong Sham Western Highway (formerly Deep Bay Link) and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge of the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western Corridor, connecting the Yuen Long Highway ( Route 9) in Lam Tei to Shenzhen via border checkpoint Shenzhen Bay Port. The trunk route is the only one in Hong Kong that terminates at a border crossing (and is partly built within the area of Shenzhen Municipality). At one stage, the Hong Kong Government had proposed to build the Yuen Long-Lantau and the Lantau- Hong Kong Island sections of Route 10. Sha Tau Kok Control Point
Sha Tau Kok Control Point () is a land immigration control point of Hong Kong, located in Sha Tau Kok, North District, New Territories, Hong Kong, along the border between mainland China and Hong Kong. Opening Sha Tau Kok was the second cross-border road link between Hong Kong and mainland China, after Man Kam To Control Point. It was officially opened on 28 February 1985 by Zhen Xipui, deputy mayor of Shenzhen, and John Boyd, a Hong Kong government official. The crossing is open from 7am to 10pm. Its counterpart across the border is the Shatoujiao Port. Traffic The control point is mainly used by vehicles (cars and lorries). Yuen Long Highway
Yuen Long Highway () is a Hong Kong expressway connecting Au Tau in Yuen Long and Lam Tei in Tuen Mun of New Territories. Part of Route 9, it bypasses Yuen Long Town and the rural areas of Lam Tei, Hung Shui Kiu and Ping Shan, providing a continuation of Tuen Mun Road to Yuen Long District. History Yuen Long Highway was completed in phases. The section known as "Yuen Long to Tuen Mun Eastern Corridor" during planning stage, which links the Lam Tei and Tong Yan San Tsuen interchanges, was opened on 1 July 1993. Tuen Mun
Tuen Mun or Castle Peak is an area near the mouth of Tuen Mun River and Castle Peak Bay in the New Territories, Hong Kong. It was one of the earliest settlements in what is now Hong Kong and can be dated to the Neolithic period. In the more recent past, it was home to many Tanka fishermen who gathered at Castle Peak Bay. Ha Tsuen (), or Ha Tsuen Heung () is an area at the west of Yuen Long Town in Hong Kong. Administratively, it belongs to Yuen Long District.
