Kommunarka (Moscow Metro)
Kommunarka (russian: Коммунарка) is a Moscow Metro station on the Sokolnicheskaya line. It was opened on 20 June 2019, along with Filatov Lug, Prokshino, and Olkhovaya. and became the southwestern terminus of the line, after Olkhovaya station. Kommunarka became the 232nd station of the Moscow Metro. It is in the Kommunarka area of Sosenskoye Settlement in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug southwest of Moscow. It has become the southern terminus of the line. History The city government decided to extend the line to Stolbovo in February 2016; an unexpected decision given that the city initially planned to extend the line only to Filatov Lug. The initial cost of the line was about 45 billion rubles. In July 2017, the city government confirmed that the extension would move forward, allowing construction to continue. Moscow Metro Station
There are 250 active stations of the Moscow Metro. Of these, 209 on Moscow Metro proper, and some additional ones that are marketed by Moscow Metro: 6 stations of Moscow Monorail and 31 stations of the Moscow Central Circle. Olkhovaya (Moscow Metro)
Olkhovaya is a Moscow Metro station on the Sokolnicheskaya line. It was opened on 20 June 2019, as part of an extension that included Kommunarka, Prokshino, and Filatov Lug. Design Overall, the station features a tree-inspired theme. With white square tiles placed in "square diamond" positions, the walls of Olkhovaya station somewhat resemble Profsoyznaya metro station. However, the bottom edges are slightly pocking from the walls: this pattern resembles tree cones. The station's hall (not on photo) has amber-like mosaic featuring trees in autumn (with yellow/orange leaves). The lights have a similar source of tree-relates inspiration, resembling "winged" seeds of trees. The very name of the station comes from "Olkha", Russian word for alder. Kommunarskaya Line
The Troitskaya line () (Line 16, previously ''Kommunarskaya line'', ) is a planned line of the Moscow Metro that will initially extend to the settlement of Kommunarka in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug, or ''New Moscow''. Moscow Ring Road
The Moscow Automobile Ring Road (russian: link=no, Московская кольцевая автомобильная дорога, Moskovskaja koltsevaya avtomobilnaya doroga), or MKAD (), is a ring road running predominantly on the city border of Moscow with a length of 108.9 km (67.7 mi) and 35 exits (including ten interchanges). Ostafyevo International Airport
Ostafyevo (russian: links=no, Остафьево) is a "B" class international airport, located to the south of Moscow Ring Road in Novomoskovsky administrative okrug of Moscow. The airport is owned by Gazpromavia company, a division of Gazprom. It was renovated and opened for civilian flights in 2000 on the grounds of a former military airbase. Ostafyevo features a new modern glass terminal, and caters primarily to business aviation.
