Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abbrem is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abbrem is located in the Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abirem district of the Central Region of Ghana. Boundaries The seat is located entirely within the Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abirem district of the Central Region of Ghana. Both the district and the constituency share common borders. It is in the south western corner of the region. It shares its northern and western borders with the Western Region of Ghana. To the north east is the Hemang Lower Denkyira constituency and to the east, the Cape Coast constituency. The Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Guinea is to the south. Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abirem District
Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abirem Municipal District is one of the twenty-two districts in Central Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abirem District, which was created from the Cape Coast Municipal Council; until it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 29 February 2008 to become Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abirem Municipal District. People's National Convention (Ghana)
The People's National Convention is a political party in Ghana. After constitutional rule was restored back in Ghana in 1992 the party was formed by former President Hilla Limann based on ideals from the People's National Party (Ghana) which he led in the 1979 elections and won. 2008 Ghanaian Parliamentary Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2008. Since no candidate received more than 50% of the votes, a run-off election was held on 28 December 2008 between the two candidates who received the most votes, Nana Akufo-Addo of the governing New Patriotic Party and John Atta Mills of the opposition National Democratic Congress. Joseph Annan (born December 18, 1953) is a Ghanaian politician. He was the Member of Parliament representing the Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abrem constituency in the 5th parliament of the 4th republic of Ghana. Early life and education Annan was born on 18 December 1953 in Komenda in the Central Region of Ghana. He had his basic education at the Ridge Church School in Accra. After obtaining his GCE A and O levels certificates he studied Sociology, Psychology, statistics and Zoology at the Chelsea College. He became a dental surgeon after his studies in dental surgery at the Royal London Hospital Medical College in 1977.
