Koktebel Jazz Festival
The Koktebel Jazz Festival is a jazz and world music music festival, festival in Ukraine. Until 2013 it used to take place annually in second week of September in Koktebel on the Black Sea coast. In 2014 it was held in Zatoka, Odessa Oblast, Zatoka and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi (both in Odessa Oblast).Koktebel Jazz Festival's 2014 venue is Odesa Interfax-Ukraine (10 June 2014) About the festival Koktebel Jazz Festival (KJF) kicked off in 2003 as an attempt to revive Koktebel's status as the cultural center of the region, back at its days famous all over the country. Kara Dag Mountain (Crimea)
The Kara Dag ("Black Mount") is a volcanic rock formation which rises to a height of 577 meters between the Crimean coastal town of Koktebel and the Otuzka River valley. It has been the site of a since the early 20th century. Some 2874 ha of coastline and 809 ha of coastal waters have been protected as the Karadag Nature Reserve since 1979. The littoral is rich in picturesque cliffs such as the Devil's Gate. The best views of the Black Mount are from Koktebel and Kurortnoye. Saskia Laroo
Saskia Laroo (born 31 July 1959 in Amsterdam), is a Dutch jazz musician who has been dubbed the "Lady Miles Davis". Her music style can be described as a combination of jazz, pop, electronic dance music, Latin and world music. Biography The beginning Laroo was born in de Jordaan, Amsterdam, Netherlands as the eldest of four daughters. When she was six the family moved to Den Ilp, a nearby village. A year later she started with general music lessons and lessons on soprano recorder, later also alto recorder at the music school in Purmerend. In Den Ilp she started age 8 to play the cornet in fanfare orchestra . Laroo went in 1971 at age 11 to secondary schoolhet Zaanlands Lyceum Zaandam. TNMK or Tanok na Maidani Kongo ( uk, Танок на майдані Конґо, ; literally "Dance at the Congo Square") - is the most successful Ukrainian hip-hop group. They are known for clever, yet often tongue-in-cheek, lyrics; mixing hip-hop with rock, funk and jazz music and playing real instruments on their albums and live shows, rather than using samples and drum machines. Shibusashirazu Orchestra
, often lengthened to Shibusashirazu Orchestra, is a popular Japanese jazz orchestra. The group was formed in 1989 by bassist Daisuke Fuwa and since then many of Japan's jazz musicians, Butoh dancers and other performance artists have passed through the orchestra. The majority of the group's original work is composed and arranged by Daisuke Fuwa. Their style stems from the jazz movement of the 60s, with the influence of 80s punk and No Wave. Although featuring extended free improvisation, there is also an element of rock music that makes the orchestra more accessible to a wider audience than a lot of other free jazz. In 2007 they signed to Avex Trax, one of Japan's leading labels for commercial pop and dance music. De-Phazz is a downtempo jazz ensemble integrating modern turntablism and elements of soul, Latin, trip hop and drum and bass into a lounge music sound. De-Phazz is led by Pit Baumgartner, a German producer who has varied the lineup of artists for every new album. Some regular members are Barbara Lahr, Karl Frierson and Pat Appleton.
