Motion Trio is a Polish accordion trio founded in 1996 by Janusz Wojtarowicz. Accordion
Accordions (from 19th-century German ''Akkordeon'', from ''Akkord''—"musical chord, concord of sounds") are a family of box-shaped musical instruments of the bellows-driven free-reed aerophone type (producing sound as air flows past a reed in a frame), colloquially referred to as a squeezebox. A person who plays the accordion is called an accordionist. The concertina , harmoneon and bandoneón are related. The harmonium and American reed organ are in the same family, but are typically larger than an accordion and sit on a surface or the floor. The accordion is played by compressing or expanding the bellows while pressing buttons or keys, causing ''pallets'' to open, which allow air to flow across strips of brass or steel, called '' reeds''. These vibrate to produce sound inside the body. Zohar Fresco
Zohar Fresco (born 1969) is an Israeli percussionist and composer, specializing on the frame drum. He is known to have created his personal musical technique that combines various styles of playing the frame drum. He is a member of the jazz trio ''MOŻDŻER DANIELSSON FRESCO'', together with Polish pianist Leszek Możdżer and Swedish double bass player Lars Danielsson. Previously, he was a member of the Israeli world music band Bustan Abraham, which existed between 1991 and 2003. During his career, he has played with musicians such as the jazz drummer Hamid Drake, violin player Taiseer Elias, saxophonist Daniel Zamir and oud player Ara Dinkjian. Kroke
Kroke is a Polish instrumental ensemble of world music. The band's name refers to the Yiddish language name for Kraków (, ). The band was founded in 1992 by three friends and graduates of the Academy of Music in Kraków. Initially, they were associated with klezmer music with strong Balkan influences. Currently, their work draws inspiration from a variety of ethnic music and sounds of the Orient (especially on the album Seventh Trip), combining these with jazz to create their own distinctive style. In addition to their own projects, Kroke have recorded albums with artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Edyta Geppert, and Urna. Zbigniew Stanisław Wodecki (; 6 May 1950 – 22 May 2017) was a Polish singer, musician, composer, actor and TV presenter. Early life and career He was born on 6 May 1950 in Godów, Poland. Anna Maria Jopek
Anna Maria Jopek (born 14 December 1970) is a Polish vocalist, songwriter, and improviser. She represented Poland in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "Ale jestem" and finished 11th out of 25 participating acts; and in 2002, she collaborated on an album with jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. She has received numerous awards for her music, including Michel Legrand's Personal Award in Vitebsk in 1994, as well as all of the awards for music in Poland, together with gold and platinum records. Biography She is the daughter of Mazowsze singer Stanisław Jopek (1935–2006), known as the "First Coachman of Poland" for his signature song "Furman" (The Coachman), and former Mazowsze dancer Maria Stankiewicz. Józef Skrzek
Józef Franciszek Skrzek (born 2 July 1948, Siemianowice, Silesia, Poland) is a Polish multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer, an important figure in Polish rock. Life In his early career, Skrzek was associated with the groups Ślężanie, Ametysty and Breakout. In 1971, he created the progressive-rock group Silesian Blues Band (with Jerzy Piotrowski and Apostolis Anthimos) and also recorded for a time with Czesław Niemen. Marcel Chyrzyński
Marcel Chyrzyński (born in 1971) is a Polish composer. He has been described as "a polystylist with an enormous sense of humour, and a lover of rhythm and jazz improvisation". Chyrzyński's works have been performed throughout Europe, as well as in South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the USA and Canada. Zbigniew Bargielski
Zbigniew Bargielski (born 21 January 1937, in Łomża), is a Polish composer and teacher. His works have been performed in many European countries, the United States, Australia and South America. On 24 February 2011 he was awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski with the Medal for Merit to Culture.
