Koen Bijen
Koen Bijen (born 27 July 1998) is a Dutch professional field hockey player who plays as a forward for Hoofdklasse club Den Bosch and the Dutch national team. Club career Bijen first played football when he was young but after nine years of playing football he switched to hockey and joined HDM. When HDM in 2017 was promoted to the Hoofdklasse, he was deemed not good enough and he left HDM for Klein Zwitserland. He currently plays for Den Bosch who he joined in 2020. International career Under–21 In 2019 Bijen made his debut for the national junior team during an eight-nations tournament in Madrid. He went on to represent the team at the EuroHockey Junior Championship in Valencia later that year, winning a bronze medal. Oranje Koen Bijen made his senior debut for the Oranje in 26 november 2021 during season three of the FIH Pro League. He was officially named in the national senior squad in 2022. Leiden
Leiden (; in English and archaic Dutch also Leyden) is a city and municipality in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. The municipality of Leiden has a population of 119,713, but the city forms one densely connected agglomeration with its suburbs Oegstgeest, Leiderdorp, Voorschoten and Zoeterwoude with 206,647 inhabitants. Male (symbol: ♂) is the sex of an organism that produces the gamete (sex cell) known as sperm, which fuses with the larger female gamete, or ovum, in the process of fertilization. A male organism cannot reproduce sexually without access to at least one ovum from a female, but some organisms can reproduce both sexually and asexually. 2022–23 Men's FIH Pro League
The 2022–23 Men's FIH Pro League was the fourth edition of the Men's FIH Pro League, a field hockey championship for men's national teams. The tournament began in October 2022 and finished in July 2023. The Netherlands won their second title. Format The FIH changed the format for this season as there were no home and away matches and the season was divided into date blocks. To reduce financial and logistical issues, a set of three teams gathered at one venue and a "mini tournament" was contested where each team played two matches against one another. The changed format also reduced the issue of travel time and minimised the burden on players. Point system and rankings The winning team got three points. In case of a draw, both teams were given one point, with the winner of the shootout earning an extra point. The team finishing last was relegated to the Nations Cup. The 2021–22 Men's FIH Pro League was the third edition of the Men's FIH Pro League, a field hockey championship for men's national teams. The tournament started in October 2021 and finished in June 2022. Format The home and away principle was kept but this principle was split over two consecutive seasons and work according to the following example: *in previous season 2020–21, Team A hosted Team B twice within a couple of days. *in current season 2021–22, Team B hosted Team A twice within a couple of days. If one of the two matches played between two teams was cancelled, the winner of the other match would have received double points. Men's FIH Pro League
The Men's FIH Pro League is an international men's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Men's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the Field hockey at the Summer Olympics, Olympic Games. The first edition started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years. Format Nine men's and women's teams compete in a round-robin tournament with home and away matches, played from October to June, with the top team at the end of the season winning the league.
