Knut N. Kjær
Knut Norheim Kjær (born 14 April 1956) is a Norwegian economist. He was the first manager of the Government Pension Fund of Norway, from 1997 to 2008. In 2008 Yngve Slyngstad became CEO of the fund. He is currently a member of the International Advisory Council of the China Investment Corporation, a member of the investment committee of the Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, adviser to the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation and chairperson of FSN Capital. The Government Pension Fund of Norway ( no, Statens pensjonsfond) comprises two entirely separate sovereign wealth funds owned by the government of Norway. The Government Pension Fund Global, also known as the Oil Fund, was established in 1990 to invest the surplus revenues of the Norwegian petroleum sector. It has over US$1.19 trillion in assets, and holds 1.4% of all of the world’s listed companies, making it among the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds. In December 2021, it was worth about $250,000 per Norwegian citizen. It also holds portfolios of real estate and fixed-income investments. Many companies are excluded by the fund on ethical grounds. The Government Pension Fund Norway is smaller and was established in 1967 as a type of national insurance fund. Yngve Slyngstad
Yngve Slyngstad (; born 3 November 1962) is the former CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) which is the part of the Norwegian Central Bank that is responsible for managing The Government Pension Fund - Global. In 2021 he was appointed as the CEO and senior partner of Aker Asset Management (AAM). Slyngstad has a law degree from the University of Oslo and a degree from the Norwegian School of Economics. He also holds an MA degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MA degree in political science from the University of Paris. Slyngstad was listed 5th on aiCIO's 2012 list of the 100 most influential institutional investors worldwide.
