Knut Henrik Lund
Knut Henrik Lund (July 20, 1909 – May 15, 1991) was a Norwegian sculptor known for his portrait busts. Career Lund originally worked in shipping, a job he held until 1940. Before the Second World War, he was also a pupil of Wilhelm Rasmussen. During the war he fled to Sweden, and then from 1945 to 1948 he was at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. The rest of his life he worked as a sculptor. Family Lund was the son of the painter Henrik Lund and Gunbjør Olsen, and he was the nephew of the composer Signe Lund. He married Irene Una Rasmussen in 1937, and in 1959 he married the actress Linge Langård. Linge Langård
Ingrid "Linge" Langård (a.k.a. Linge Langaard, née Cappelen, May 20, 1905 – September 23, 1981), was a Norwegian actress, singer, and fair organizer. She was the owner of the Lillemannequin modeling agency, and she held fashion shows around Norway for several years. She organized several "housewife fairs" ( no, husmormesser). Background and family Linge Cappelen grew up in Skien as the daughter of the Supreme Court lawyer Didrik Cappelen. While still living in her hometown, she occasionally sang and danced in local shows in support of charitable causes. She married Knut Christian Langaard, the son of the businessman Christian Langaard. Knut Langaard was the owner of the Staur Farm for a time, and he acted in the film ''Eskimo'' (1930). Her marriage with Langaard ended in divorce, and in 1959 she married the sculptor Knut Henrik Lund. Molde Airport
Molde Airport ( no, Molde lufthavn; ) is an international airport serving the town of Molde, Norway. It is on the shore of the Moldefjord at Årø, east of town center. The airport's catchment area covers the district of Romsdal. The airport features a runway measuring , aligned 07/25. Owned and operated by the state-owned Avinor, the airport served 481,406 passengers in 2014. Scheduled services are provided domestically to Oslo by Scandinavian Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle, and to Bergen, Stord and Trondheim by Widerøe. Proposals for an airport serving Molde were discussed from 1940, but the neighboring towns of Ålesund and Kristiansund were ultimately prioritized. Norwegian America Line
The Norwegian America Line ( no, Den Norske Amerikalinje), was a shipping line, originally an operator of ocean liners and cargo ships. Founded in 1910, the company ran a regular transatlantic service between Norway and the United States, and later included a route to East Africa as well. Primarily due to competition from air travel, transatlantic passenger voyages were slowly discontinued during the years. After the Great War, the company was one of Norway’s largest shipping lines, owning a fleet that included 19 vessels, several of which were for commercial cargo transport. After the Second World War heavy ships losses were overcome by the building of new vessels, however the reduction in the passengers’ traffic by sea shifted the company’s focus mainly to the cargo business, including container and bulk shipping from the 1970s. Hans Christian Henriksen
Hans Christian Henriksen (25 June 1909 – 26 August 1983) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Kristiania as a son of Gustav Severin Henriksen and Lisken Dall. In 1934 he married Agnes Cecilie Egeberg, a daughter of Einar Westye Egeberg, Jr. and Kitty Parr. He became a student in 1927 and graduated from the University of Neuchâtel in 1931 with a degree in economics. He was hired in the Norwegian America Line in 1933 and worked as director of the Norwegian America Line Agency Inc in New York from 1935 to 1939. He returned to Norway as office manager in 1939, and became vice chief executive in 1947. He was then the chief executive officer from 1948 to 1973. He chaired the Oslo Stock Exchange Committee from 1956 to 1970 and the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue from 1956 to 1961. Braathens ASA, until 1997 Braathens South American & Far East Airtransport A/S and trading as Braathens SAFE, was a Norwegian airline which operated from 1946 until it merged with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) in 2004 to become SAS Braathens. For most of its history, Braathens was the largest domestic airline in Norway, but did not operate an international network for many years.
