Linge Langård
Ingrid "Linge" Langård (a.k.a. Linge Langaard, née Cappelen, May 20, 1905 – September 23, 1981), was a Norwegian actress, singer, and fair organizer. She was the owner of the Lillemannequin modeling agency, and she held fashion shows around Norway for several years. She organized several "housewife fairs" ( no, husmormesser). Background and family Linge Cappelen grew up in Skien as the daughter of the Supreme Court lawyer Didrik Cappelen. While still living in her hometown, she occasionally sang and danced in local shows in support of charitable causes. She married Knut Christian Langaard, the son of the businessman Christian Langaard. Knut Langaard was the owner of the Staur Farm for a time, and he acted in the film ''Eskimo'' (1930). Her marriage with Langaard ended in divorce, and in 1959 she married the sculptor Knut Henrik Lund. Kviteseid
Kviteseid is a Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Telemark in the Counties of Norway, county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional region of Upper Telemark and Vest-Telemark. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kviteseid. The parish of ''Hvideseid'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Kviteseid Seminar was the first public school which started in 1819 and was in operation until 1889. Kviteseid Library (''Kviteseid Folkebibliotek'') was founded in 1895. The library was first based on a book collection from Kviteseid Seminar. The main industries of the municipality are forestry, agriculture, tourism, and hydroelectricity, hydroelectric power. Lalla Carlsen
Lalla Carlsen (née Haralda Petrea Christensen) (17 August 1889 – 23 March 1967) was a Norwegian singer and actress. She is regarded as one of the most legendary female revue artists in Norway. Personal life Lalla Carlsen was born in Svelvik as the daughter of shipmaster Carl Alfred Christensen and Laura Nilsson. The family moved to Christiania (now Oslo) when she was ten years old. She married composer, pianist and kapellmeister Carsten Carlsen (1892 –1961) in 1917 and was known by the stage name Lalla Carlsen. Their daughter Gjertrud Carlsen (1919–2007) was also a pianist on Chat Noir, wrote several children's songs and was the mother of NRK media personality Vibeke Sæther (born 1943). Nord-Trøndelag
Nord-Trøndelag (; "North Trøndelag") was a county constituting the northern part of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. The county was established in 1804 when the old Trondhjems amt was divided into two: Nordre Trondhjems amt and Søndre Trondhjems amt. In 2016, the two county councils voted to merge (back) into a single county on 1 January 2018. As of 1 January 2014, the county had 135,142 inhabitants, making it the country's fourth-least populated county. The largest municipalities are Stjørdal, Steinkjer—the county seat, Levanger, Namsos, and Verdal, all with between 24,000 and 12,000 inhabitants. Hjemmenes Vel
Hjemmenes Vel (Welfare in the Home), later Norges Husmorforbund (Norwegian Housewives' Association), was Norway's first association for housewives. Founded in Oslo (then Christiania) by Dorothea Christensen in 1898, it was also the first organization for housewives in Europe. The association functioned until the late.1970s. In 1897, Christensen had published an article in ''Husmoderen'' (The Housewife) titled "Vi husmødre slutter os sammen" (We housewives should stick together) which paved the way for the establishment of Hjemmenes Vel on 10 March 1898. Based on the success of the Oslo organization, local Hjemmenes Vel branches were established throughout the country. As a result, in 1915 Hjemmenes Vels Landsforbund or national headquarters was founded by Marie Michelet who chaired it until 1934. By 1924, there were some 50 local organizations in Norway. Bokken Lasson
Caroline "Bokken" Lasson (7 January 1871 – 3 August 1970) was a Norwegian concert and cabaret singer. She is known for starting the Oslo cabaret Chat Noir in 1912, and also for introducing the children's song "Tuppen og Lillemor" to the Norwegian public. Early and personal life Caroline Lasson was born in Christiania as the daughter of lawyer Christian Otto Carl Lasson and Alexandra Cathrine Henriette von Munthe af Morgenstierne. She was a granddaughter of lawyer and politician Peder Carl Lasson, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Norway. She was a sister of composer Per Lasson and painter Oda Krohg, and sister-in-law of the painters Christian Krohg and Frits Thaulow. She had a close relation to the Danish writer Holger Drachmann, who later married her sister. Signe Heide Steen
Signe Heide Steen (May 17, 1881 – October 18, 1959) was a Norwegian actress. Family Signe Heide Steen was born in Holmestrand, Norway, one of twelve children of the violin maker Johan Albert Heide (1848–1925) and Julie Hovelsen (1855–1906). Her older brother Harald Heide was a violinist and composer, and at the age of twelve Signe played the violin at local events. After growing up in Holmestrand and Fredrikstad, she appeared as an extra a production of Leo Tolstoy's ''The Power of Darkness'' at the Akersgaden Theater, and for a while she studied under Thora Hansson. Harald Steen
Harald Steen (April 2, 1886 – April 18, 1941) was a Norwegian tenor and actor. Steen debuted at the National Theater in Oslo in 1902 and remained there until 1908. He was engaged with the Central Theater from 1908 to 1927. With his spirited mood, smooth characterization, and excellent voice, he was a key actor for much of the theater's repertoire of comedies, operettas, and operas. ''Eskimo'' is a Norwegian–Danish adventure and drama film from 1930 directed by George Schnéevoigt. It starred Mona Mårtenson, Paul Richter, and Henki Kolstad, for whom it was his film debut at age 14. Had it not been for the fact that Denmark was also involved in the production, ''Eskimo'' would have been considered the first feature-length Norwegian sound film (rather than ''Den store barnedåpen'' from 1931). The language in the film is Norwegian. Plot Jack Norton is a gambler, and his father often lends him money to pay off his gambling debts. Finally, his father's patience runs out. He refuses to lend him more money, and he no longer wants to acknowledge Jack as his son. In desperation, Jack takes a motorboat and sails to sea.
