Knocking At Your Back Door
"Knocking at Your Back Door" is a song by the English hard rock band Deep Purple, the first track of the album '' Perfect Strangers'', which was released in October 1984. The song was written by Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan and Roger Glover. The track received heavy airplay at the time, playing on heavy rotation. It was used by the Seattle SuperSonics in their lineup intro during home games. Background The song is lyrically about anal sex, as it uses various sexual innuendos throughout the song. Ian Gillan commented: After receiving considerable airplay, the song was released commercially in the US in December 1984, while in the UK, it was released as the second single from the ''Perfect Strangers'' album in June 1985. "Knocking at Your Back Door" was a permanent part of the band's live set until 1994 and sporadically since then. Live albums that include the track are: '' Nobody's Perfect'' (1988), '' In the Absence of Pink'' (1991), ''Come Hell or High Water'' (DVD, 1994), ...

Deep Purple
Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in London in 1968. They are considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal music, heavy metal and modern hard rock music, but their musical style has changed over the course of its existence. Originally formed as a psychedelic rock, psychedelic and progressive rock band, they shifted to a heavier sound with their 1970 album ''Deep Purple in Rock''. Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies". They were listed in the 1975 Guinness World Records, ''Guinness Book of World Records'' as "Loudest band, the globe's loudest band" for a 1972 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre and have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Deep Purple have had several line-up changes and an eight-year hiatus (1976–1984). The first four line-ups, which constituted the band's original 1968–1976 run, are officially indica ...

Songs Written By Ritchie Blackmore
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical composers fo ...

Billboard Hot 100
The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. Radio airplay, which, unlike sales figures and streaming, is readily available on a real-time basis, is also tracked on a Friday to Thursday cycle effective with the chart dated July 17, 2021 (previously Monday to Sunday and before July 2015, Wednesday to Tuesday). A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by ''Billboard'' on Tuesdays but post-dated to the following Saturday. The first number-one song of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 was " Poor Little Fool" by Ricky Ne ...

Live In Europe 1993
''Live in Europe 1993'' (alternative title: ''On Tour MCMXCIII'') is a live box-set, released by Sony/BMG, containing two concerts recorded by Deep Purple in 1993. Each concert has its own gatefold sleeve and paper CD-liners, being housed in a cardboard outer box. The first recording is from a show on 16 October at the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart, Germany. The second is from a show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England on 9 November, which would be the final show Ritchie Blackmore did with Deep Purple in England. The live album '' Come Hell or High Water'' from 1994 was recorded at this Stuttgart show. The Birmingham show was released on DVD as '' Come Hell or High Water'' in 1994. In 2007 each show had a separate release, in a jewel-case, being titled ''Live in Stuttgart'' and ''Live at the Birmingham NEC''. Come Hell Or High Water
''Come Hell or High Water'' is a CD and DVD by the hard rock group Deep Purple. It was recorded on 16 October 1993 at Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany and at the NEC in Birmingham on 9 November. The album is one of the last to feature Ritchie Blackmore, as he quit after the concert on 17 November 1993 in Helsinki, Finland. He was replaced by Joe Satriani for the rest of the tour and later by Steve Morse. Recording Blackmore's issues with the presence of a cameraman on his side of the stage at the start of the Birmingham concert prompted the guitarist to return to his dressing room until the cameraman was removed. This leads to a longer than usual guitar-free intro into "Highway Star" and several truncated guitar solo spots through the show. The rest of the band's dissatisfaction with the behaviour of their soon-to-be-departed guitarist is evident in their interviews on the DVD. The CD features songs from the Stuttgart show, with the exception of "Anyone's ...

In The Absence Of Pink
''In the Absence of Pink'' is a live album released by Deep Purple. It was originally recorded by BBC Radio on the reunited Mk II Purple's first UK gig after reforming in 1984, at the Knebworth Festival on Saturday 22 June 1985. Several of the supporting artists were also recorded, and they – together with Deep Purple – were broadcast on BBC Radio 1 the following Saturday during a programme called 'Knebworth Through The Night', which ran from 2200 to 0400. The original double CD version was released in 1991. Album content and missing songs "Under the Gun" for some reason was not recorded by the BBC and with a short version of "Woman from Tokyo" were the only omissions from the normal set-list performed on the world tour. Although "Child in Time" was sometimes featured, it was not performed at this concert. The group's set opens with Jon Lord playing the toccata from "'' Toccata and Fugue in D-minor''" by Johann Sebastian Bach. "Difficult to Cure" is an adaptation of Beeth ...
