Kleppen, Norway
Kleppen is a suburb of Namsos in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. It lies around 2 kilometres north-northeast of Namsos centre and borders the suburbs of Fossbrenna, Bjørum, Østbyen, Rønningåsen and Høknes. The area is named after the small farm of ''Kleppen'', which then gave its name to the suburb. In the suburb are Høknes primary school, Kleppen sports club from 1959 has two sports halls and football pitches, including Kleppen stadium, where Namsos IL Namsos Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Namsos, Nord-Trøndelag, founded on 28 November 1904. Hans Kleppen
Hans Kleppen (16 March 1907 – 12 April 2009) was a Norwegian ski jumper who competed in the late 1920s. He won a bronze medal on the individual large hill competition at the 1929 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane. Kleppen was born in Bø, Telemark in March 1907. He turned 100 in March 2007 and, having participated in the 1928 Winter Olympics, was Norway's oldest living Olympian. Halvor Kleppen
Halvor Kleppen (born 3 September 1947 in Bø, Telemark) is a Norwegian media personality, theme park owner and writer. He was hired in Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation radio in 1973, and worked in the entertainment department. In the summer of 1982 he presented the show ''Sumarteltet'', where he toured with a circus and made an entertainment show from that. In 1982 he was awarded the ''Se og Hør'' readers' TV personality of the year award. He left the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation later that year to become a freelancer. He later hosted the show ''Starshot'' on TVNorge, where celebrities were invited to try skeet shooting. He also co-owns Bø Sommarland, a waterpark in Bø i Telemark. He has also hosted a TVNorge summer show from here, ''Sommer i Sommarland''. He has written several books, mostly about local history or skiing.
