Kleitos, Kozani
Kleitos ( el, Κλείτος) is a village and a community of the Kozani municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Ellispontos, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 408 inhabitants in the village. The community of Kleitos covers an area of 24.048 km2. History Kleitos settlement has been relocated to the current location due to the lignite mines' of the Public Power Corporation of Greece expansion towards the original settlement. The original settlement was located 3 km west of Akrini. Western Macedonia ( el, Δυτική Μακεδονία, translit=Ditikí Makedonía, ) is one of the thirteen regions of Greece, consisting of the western part of Macedonia. Located in north-western Greece, it is divided into the regional units of Florina, Grevena, Kastoria, and Kozani. Kozani ( el, Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Κοζάνης, Perifereiakí Enótita Kozánis) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Western Macedonia, in the geographic region of Macedonia. Its capital is the city of Kozani. Geography Kozani borders the regional units of Kastoria to the west and northwest, Florina to the north, Pella to the northeast, Imathia and Pieria to the east, Larissa (part of Thessaly) to the southeast, and Grevena to the south. The main mountain ranges are Askio in the northwest, Voio in the west, Vermio in the northeast and the Pierian Mountains in the southeast. Akrini
Akrini ( el, Ακρινή) is a village and a community of the Kozani municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Ellispontos, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 960 inhabitants in the village and 975 inhabitants in the community of Akrini. The community of Akrini covers an area of 38.422 km2. History Neolithic era tools has been discovered near Akrini. Objects from the 2nd century BC has been found in the area, as well as an Early Christian church of the 4th century AD. The contemporary village of Akrini is inhabited by Greek refugees from Adapazarı.
