Klassikaraadio ('Radio of Classics') is an Estonian radio program/station which is managed by Estonian Public Broadcasting (formerly Estonian Radio Eesti Raadio (Estonian Radio, ER) was the public service radio broadcaster of Estonia that, at the time of closure, operated five national radio stations. It was closed in 2007 as a result of a merger with Eesti Televisioon (Estonian Television, ...). Klassikaraadio is the only radio station in Estonia which regularly transmit classical music. Klassikaraadio started on 1 April 1995. TNS Emor's survey in 2018 showed that every week about 94.000 people listen to Klassikaraadio. Eesti Raadio (Estonian Radio, ER) was the public service radio broadcaster of Estonia that, at the time of closure, operated five national radio stations. It was closed in 2007 as a result of a merger with Eesti Televisioon (Estonian Television, ETV) to form the Estonian Public Broadcasting service, or Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR). Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) – ''Estonian Public Broadcasting'' – is a publicly funded and owned radio and television organisation created in Estonia on 1 June 2007 to take over the functions of the formerly separate Eesti Raadio (ER) (''Estonian Radio'') and Eesti Televisioon (ETV) (''Estonian Television''), under the terms of the Estonian National Broadcasting Act. The first chair of ERR is Margus Allikmaa, the former chair of Eesti Raadio. Present CEO is Erik Roose. Vikerraadio is an Estonian national radio channel of Eesti Rahvusringhääling (formerly Eesti Raadio). It began broadcasting on April 3, 1967. Ingrid Peek has been the editor-in-chief since August 7, 2017. According to the Kantar Emor radio survey, as of 2022, Vikerraadio was the most listened-to radio station in Estonia by day, week and month. 122,000 listeners listened to Vikerradio per day and 230,000 listeners per week. Raadio 2 is Estonian radio station. It belongs to Estonian Public Broadcasting (formerly Estonian Radio) and started broadcasting on 1 May 1993. History In the course of the radio reform, Vikerraadio was merged with the I program (the name remained the I program). A new Estonian Radio station started operating on the frequency of program II - a self-sustaining commercial station aimed at young people, Raadio 2, which was broadcast for the first time from the 10th floor of the new Radio Building on May 1, 1993. Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience.
