Klara Wischer
Klara Wischer (born 9 April 1991) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Southside Flyers of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She played two seasons of college basketball in the United States for the San Diego Toreros before debuting in the WNBL for the Perth Lynx in 2015. After many seasons in the Australian state leagues, she returned to the WNBL in 2023 with the Southside Flyers. Early life Born and raised in Melbourne, Victoria, Wischer attended Methodist Ladies' College and played as a junior for the Nunawading Spectres. College career In 2009, Wischer moved to the United States to play college basketball for Cloud County Community College. As a freshman at Could County in 2009–10, she averaged 4.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. College Basketball
In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). 2017 WSBL Season
The 2017 WSBL season was the 29th season of the Women's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 17 March, with Perry Lakes, East Perth and Rockingham hosting Stirling, Kalamunda and Perth respectively. The 2017 WSBL All-Star Game was played on 5 June at Bendat Basketball Centre – the home of basketball in Western Australia. The regular season ended on Saturday 29 July. Willetton Tigers is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of Willetton Basketball Association (WBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in the Melville/Canning region. South West Slammers is an NBL1 West club based in Bunbury, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The Slammers play their home games at Eaton Recreation Centre and represent Western Australia's South West region. Townsville Fire
The Townsville Fire are an Australian professional female basketball team competing in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). They are the only female professional sporting team of any discipline in the northern half of Australia. The team was established in 2001 by Townsville Basketball Inc. In 2014, James Cook University became the team's principal partner and naming rights sponsor. Following the 2010/11 season, the Fire were seemingly doomed, folding under the weight of financial pressures before an 11th hour resurrection. The Dandenong Rangers were an Australian professional women's basketball team competing in the Women's National Basketball League ( WNBL). The club is based in Dandenong, Melbourne, Victoria.
