Kiron Lenses
Kiron Lenses were photographic lenses distributed by the Kiron Corporation, formerly based in Carson, California, United States. History The company was set up as a U.S. subsidiary of Kino Precision Industries Limited, Tokyo, Japan and registered as a trademark on Jan 25 1980, in order to market manually focused film camera optical lenses to the United States. Kino Precision was founded in 1959 by Tatsuo Kataoka to manufacture lenses for 8mm movie cameras. Originally, Kino Precision manufactured some of the now-famous ''Series 1'' manual focus lenses under contract for Vivitar, a U.S. lens distributor of after-market film lenses for 35mm cameras. However, after the positive reception from consumers on Vivitar Series 1 lenses, and as Vivitar was using other Japanese lens manufacturers to produce Vivitar brand lenses, the company believed the time was right to successfully market lenses to fit existing 35mm Japanese film cameras under their own brand, Kiron. Kiron soon became kn ...

Old Kiron, Iowa
Old Kiron was an unincorporated community in Crawford County, in the U.S. state of Iowa. Today, it is the site of a few scattered farms in what is essentially a ghost town. History Early years Originally named Kiron, the community was platted at the corners of sections 5, 6, 7, and 8 in Stockholm Township. The community was founded by Swedish immigrants. A post office opened in Kiron in 1872. Andrew Norelius served as the Kiron postmaster for 18 years. Proposals for the name of the community included Swedeboy and Swedeberg, but there were already towns in Iowa with similar names. Lars Olson and A. Norelius settled on Kiron, named after a place in Mongolia. The Swede Brothers opened a store in Kiron circa 1882; this store became the Lester & Cole store in 1890, and became the G.A. Norelius general store in 1892. At that time, all goods were hauled in from Odebolt, Iowa, with each trip taking one day on primitive, ungraded roads. Decline When a new rail line on the Chicago and N ...

Cheiron Studios
Cheiron Studios () was a recording studio located in the Kungsholmen district of Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 1992 by Denniz PoP and Tom Talomaa, it was famous for being the place where popular music acts of the late 1990s/early 2000s such as Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Robyn, NSYNC, Britney Spears, and Westlife, produced many of their greatest hits. In addition, Cheiron Studios was also a record label (Cheiron Records) in affiliation with BMG for a while, and a music publishing service (Cheiron Songs), although those ventures were abandoned in favour of music production. After Denniz PoP's death in 1998, Cheiron closed in 2000. Talomaa and Max Martin reformed the company as Maratone, while Kristian Lundin and Jake Schulze formed The Location and David Kreuger and Per Magnusson started A Side Productions. The studio is currently owned by Roxy Recordings which also includes the Hanssonic Studios of Anders Hansson. 1986–92 In 1986 a group of ten Swedish disc jo ...
