Easterine Kire
Easterine Kire is a poet and author who currently lives in northern Norway. The majority of her writings are based in the lived realities of the people in Nagaland in north-east India. Her motivation to write is summed up in this statement by her in an interview, "I felt we needed to create written Naga Literature. We have so much oral narratives but with oral dying out, it's all going to be lost." Apart from writing, she also performs Jazz poetry with her band Jazzpoesi. Early life Easterine Kire was born on 29 March 1959 in Kohima to an Angami Naga family from Kohima Village. She did her schooling in Baptist English School. She then went to pursue her undergraduate study in Shillong followed by a course in journalism in Delhi. She has a phD in English literature from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Khrielie-ü Kire
Khrielie-ü Kire (12 January 1918 — 11 September 2013) was an Naga physician and bureaucrat who was the first female physician practicing Western medicine among the Nagas. Early life Khrielie-ü Kire was born on 12 January 1918 to an Angami Naga family from Kohima Village. Her mother and father were Neikuonuo and Zetsovi Kire. Kire did her schooling from Baptist Mission School, Kohima and studied Licentiate Medicine Surgery (LMS) from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana. She went on to do her MBBS from Assam Medical College at Dibrugarh in 1952. Career Khrielie-ü Kire started her career in 1947 with honorary service at the Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima. She later served as the Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland. Ezra Kire (born Ezra Cannon, December 30, 1975) is an American musician with the punk band Morning Glory (band), Morning Glory, and is an ex-member of punk bands Leftöver Crack, Choking Victim and INDK, InDK. He currently resides in New York City. Early life Ezra Kire was born on December 30, 1975, in the town of Grand Forks, North Dakota, near the Canada–US border. In his youth his family frequently moved across North America, then eventually to Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he attended high school at the Overseas School of Colombo. It was there that he started his first band with friend Derek Dees. In 1990 the two 8th graders played their first show at the school cafeteria, along with another two shows later that year, including the senior prom. After leaving Sri Lanka, Ezra moved to the small Canadian town of Nelson, British Columbia, where he played in the band Dead Faculty.
