Kirchentellinsfurt
Kirchentellinsfurt is a municipality in the district of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany, about 7 km east of the city of Tübingen and 7 km northwest of Reutlingen. Since 2015, Bernd Haug has been the mayor of Kirchentellinsfurt. Geography Kirchentellinsfurt lies next to the river Neckar on the edge of the Schönbuch. Near the village, the Echaz river flows into the Neckar. It borders on the towns Altenburg, Reutlingen, Pliezhausen, Wannweil, Kusterdingen und Tübingen. History The two settlements Kirchen and Tälisfurt grew together to form Kirchentellinsfurt. Kirchen was first mentioned 1007 in a treaty when it was given to the Archdiocese of Bamberg as a gift. The fusion of the two villages 1275, was the first time Tellinsfurt was mentioned in documents. The village became Protestant when the first Protestant pastor was appointed in 1594. Neckar
The Neckar () is a river in Germany, mainly flowing through the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, with a short section through Hesse. The Neckar is a major right tributary of the Rhine. Rising in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis near Schwenningen in the ''Schwenninger Moos'' conservation area at a height of above sea level, it passes through Rottweil, Rottenburg am Neckar, Kilchberg, Tübingen, Wernau, Nürtingen, Plochingen, Esslingen, Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, Marbach, Heilbronn and Heidelberg, before discharging on average of water into the Rhine at Mannheim, at above sea level, making the Neckar its 4th largest tributary, and the 10th largest river in Germany. Echaz
The Echaz is a 23 km long river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, a tributary of the Neckar. It has its source on the Swabian Jura, near Lichtenstein, south of Reutlingen. After flowing through Pfullingen, Reutlingen and Wannweil, it discharges into the Neckar near Kirchentellinsfurt, which lies halfway between Reutlingen and Tübingen. Geography Echaz springs The origin of the Echaz is situated close to the Albtrauf south of the district Honau of the municipality Lichtenstein. The ''Echazquellen'' are situated below Lichtenstein Castle at an altitude of 557 metres above sea level at the south-eastern tip of the wedging open corridor of a valley, which continues as a wooded and steep ravine upwards for almost a kilometre and mostly dry up to the ''Ohafelsen''. Tübingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Böblingen, Reutlingen, Zollernalbkreis and Freudenstadt. History The district dates back to the ''Oberamt Tübingen'' in the state of Württemberg. In 1811 the ''Oberamt Rottenburg'' was created, and both were converted into districts in 1934. In 1938 most of the district Rottenburg as well as a few municipalities from the district Herrenberg and Reutlingen were added to the district Tübingen. Reutlingen (; Swabian: ''Reitlenga'') is a city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the capital of the eponymous district of Reutlingen. As of June 2018, it has a population of 115,818. Schönbuch
Schönbuch is an almost completely wooded area south west of Stuttgart and part of the Southern German Escarpment Landscape (German: ''südwestdeutsches Schichtstufenland''). In 1972 the centre zone of Schönbuch became the first nature park in Baden-Württemberg. Pliezhausen is a municipality in the district of Reutlingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Geography Pliezhausen is located between the Neckar and the Schönbuch. Constituent communities The original municipality Pliezhausen consists of the districts Pliezhausen, Dörnach and Gniebel. Wannweil is a town in the district of Reutlingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is located 5 kilometers northwest of Reutlingen between the cities Reutlingen and Tübingen. It was home of 1990 soccer world champion Guido Buchwald and of Germany's former president Horst Köhler during his study period in Tübingen. Bamberg
