King Square, Barry
King Square is a town square in central Barry, Wales located at a central shopping point of Holton Road. The square was originally known as Town Hall Square after the Town Hall was opened in 1908. In June 1910 it was proposed it was renamed King Edward Square after Edward VII, but as the proclamation ceremony of George V's ascent to the throne had been held there the previous month, it was renamed simply, as King Square. The square underwent much renovation in the early 2000s. Today, it houses the Barry Council Office and Library, Art Central Gallery and several bus stops. Königsplatz (, ''King's Square'') is a square in Munich, Germany. Built in the style of European Neoclassicism in the 19th century, it displays the Propyläen Gate and, facing each other, the Glyptothek (archeological museum) and the Staatliche Antikensammlungen (art museum). The area around Königsplatz is home to the Kunstareal, Munich's gallery and museum quarter. Architecture The square was designed as part of the representative boulevard Brienner Straße by Karl von Fischer working for Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and laid out by Leo von Klenze. Fischer modeled the Königsplatz on the Acropolis in Athens. King Square in Bridgwater within the English county of Somerset was laid out with large Georgian houses between 1770 and 1800 on the site of Bridgwater Castle. King’s Square, Saint John
King's Square is a historic urban park located in Uptown Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The grounds of the square itself was established in 1785 when the city was granted it by charter, though it was not until 1844 when King's Square became a park. It was named after King George III. The square features multiple monuments and plaques paying tribute to individuals who have contributed to the city’s heritage.
