Kindle Theatre
KILN'' (Formerly known as ''Kindle Theatre')'' is a theatre company based in Birmingham, England. The company was founded in 2005 by Emily Ayres, Sam Fox, Jess Mackinnon and Olivia Winteringham, and is now run by three Artistic Directors and a Producer. The company halved in size from 8 members to 4 at Christmas 2005, and in 2006 launched a community arts project to produce a site-specific work in Smethwick's Chance Brothers glassworks. Theatre Company
Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers, usually actors or actresses, to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage. Site-specific Theatre
Site-specific theatre is a theatrical production that is performed at a unique, specially adapted location other than a standard theatre. This unique site may have been built without any intention of serving theatrical purposes (for example, a hotel, courtyard, or converted building). It may also simply be an unconventional space for theatre (for example, a forest). Site-specific theatre seeks to use the properties of a unique site's landscape, rather than a typical theatre stage, to add depth to a theatrical production. Sites are selected based on their ability to amplify storytelling and form a more vivid backdrop for the actors in a theatrical production. Chance Brothers
Chance Brothers and Company was a glassworks originally based in Spon Lane, Smethwick, West Midlands (formerly in Staffordshire), in England. It was a leading glass manufacturer and a pioneer of British glassmaking technology. The Chance family originated in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire as farmers and craftsmen, before setting up business in Smethwick in 1822. Situated between Birmingham and the Black Country in the agglomeration of the Midlands industrial heartland, they took advantage of the skilled workers, canals and many advances that were taking place in the industrial West Midlands at the time. Andy Field (Blogger)
Andy Field (born 1983) is an artist, writer, curator and academic based in London. Biography He has created and toured his own contemporary performance work in the UK and internationally. He is most well-known for the work he creates in collaboration with young people. His performance Lookout has toured to cities including Beijing, London, Vancouver, Cairo and Milan and in 2018 won the Spirit of the Fringe award at Auckland Fringe Festival in New Zealand. He regularly collaborates with producer Beckie Darlington and in 2021, their project The Book of St Helens, a guide-book to the town of St Helens created by 150 local primary school children, won the Liverpool City Region Culture and Creativity Impact Award for Improving Education. The Guardian
