Kimberley Starr
Kimberley Starr (born 1970) is an Australian novelist and teacher. Her debut novel, ''The Kingdom Where Nobody Dies,'' was followed by ''The Book Of Whispers''. Her next novel, ''Torched'', was released by Pantera Press in 2020. Biography Kimberley Starr was born in 1970 in Morgantown, West Virginia, moving to Australia as a young child. She began her education at the Armidale Demonstration School, moving on to Garran Primary School, and Padua Catholic High School, ACT (now St Mary MacKillop College), before completing her secondary education at Loreto Normanhurst. She holds degrees in literature from the University of Sydney and Macquarie University. Starr currently teaches English at Viewbank College and is a Graduate Researcher in Creative Writing at La Trobe University. She lives in Diamond Creek, in Melbourne. Queensland Premier's Literary Awards
The Queensland Premier's Literary Awards were an Australian suite of literary awards inaugurated in 1999 and disestablished in 2012. It was one of the most generous suites of literary awards within Australia, with $225,000 in prize money across 14 categories with prizes up to $25,000 in some categories. The awards upon their establishment incorporated a number of pre-existing awards including the Steele Rudd Award for the best Australian collection of new short fiction and the David Unaipon Award for unpublished Indigenous writing. The awards were established by Peter Beattie, the then Premier of Queensland in 1999 and abolished by Premier Campbell Newman, shortly after winning the 2012 Queensland state election. Diamond Creek
Diamond Creek is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 23 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Diamond Creek recorded a population of 12,503 at the 2021 census. History There are two ideas about where Diamond Creek got its name. Victoria's Register of Geographic Names says that it was because of the way the stones glistened in the creek water. Local legend says it is because of a bull who was trying to cross a creek. Viewbank College is an Australian public secondary school located in the north eastern suburb of Viewbank, in Melbourne, Australia. History and notable alumni Viewbank College was founded on the site of Rosanna East High School in 1994, the result of a merger between it and Banyule High School. The two original schools serviced the surrounding area, predominantly enrolling students situated in the City of Heidelberg (now known as the City of Banyule).
