Kimballs Lane station is a light rail station in Draper, Utah, United States, served by the Blue Line of Utah Transit Authority's TRAX light rail system. The Blue Line provides service from Downtown Salt Lake City to downtown Draper. Description The station is located at 11796 South 700 East (SR-71) and is easily accessed off that road from either 11400 South or 12300 South (Draper Parkway). Access to the main park and ride lot (situated directly northeast of the passenger platform) is only by way of a short section of 11800 South which is directly north of the station, there is no direct access from 700 East. There is a second, smaller Park and Ride lot southwest of the passenger platform which is located at 667 East Kimballs Lane and is accessed from that road. Draper, Utah
Draper is a city in Salt Lake and Utah counties in the U.S. state of Utah, about south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front. As of the 2020 census, the population is 51,017, up from 7,143 in 1990. Draper is part of two metropolitan areas; the Salt Lake County portion is in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, while the Utah County portion is in the Provo-Orem metropolitan area. The Utah State Prison is in Draper, near Point of the Mountain, alongside Interstate 15. Gary Gilmore's execution occurred on 17 January 1977. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Blue Line (TRAX)
The Blue Line is a light rail line on the TRAX system in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, in the United States, operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). It is the first line of the TRAX system completed. The line opened on December 4, 1999, one year ahead of schedule after two years of construction. In addition to Salt Lake City, it also serves the communities of South Salt Lake, Murray, Midvale, Sandy and Draper. The line was known as the North/South Line or the Sandy/Salt Lake Line until color names were adopted for each TRAX line in August 2011. Juan Diego Catholic High School (JDCHS) is a parochial school located in the Salt Lake City suburb of Draper, Utah by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City. History American Stores's Chief Executive Officer Leonard Samuel Skaggs made an initial donation of $42 million to Roman Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City for the purpose of providing primary and secondary education.
