Kim Rostron
Kim Andrew ( Rostron, born 12 February 1974) is an English amateur golfer. She won the 1997 English Women's Amateur Championship and the 1998 Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship. She played in the Curtis Cup in 1998 and 2000. Golf career Andrew played for England in the Girls Home Internationals in 1991 and 1992. However she failed to make an impact in important national events until 1997, although she made her debut for England in the Women's Home Internationals in 1996. In April 1997 she won the Helen Holm Scottish Women's Open Championship beating Fiona Brown after a sudden-death playoff. The following month she won the English Women's Amateur Championship at Saunton, beating Kate Burton 4&2 in the final, and the following week won the St Rule Trophy by a stroke from Janice Moodie. Elaine Ratcliffe
Elaine Ratcliffe (born November 1972) is an English amateur golfer. She won the 1998 English Women's Amateur Championship. She played in the Curtis Cup in 1996 and 1998 and was the non-playing captain in 2021 and 2022. Golf career In 1990 Ratcliffe represented England in the Girls Home Internationals at Penrith. The following year she had two rounds of 72 in the Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Long Ashton, to lead after 36 holes, but fell away badly on the final day. From 1991 to 1995 she attended the University of Stirling, having obtained a golf scholarship there. The 2001 European Ladies' Team Championship took place in 10–14 July at Campo de Golf de Meis in the province of Pontevedra, . It was the 22nd women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting public course, in the municipality Meis, 60 kilometres north-east of the city of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, opened its 18 holes in 2000. The 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 9–13 July at Nordcenter Golf & Country Club in Åminnefors, Finland. It was the 20th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting club was founded in 1988. Its first course, the Fream course, situated in Åminnefors, close to Pohja in the province of Southern Finland and part of the Uusimaa region, 70 kilometres west of Helsinki, Finland, was designed by architect Ronald Fream. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay. Beth Bauer Grace (born March 15, 1980) is an American former professional golfer. Bauer was born in Largo, Florida. As an amateur, she won the 1997 U.S. Girls' Junior and in 1998 and 1999 she earned back-to-back victories at the North and South Women's Amateur at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. She played on the victorious U.S. Curtis Cup team in 1998 and 2000. A former student at Duke University, where she played on the golf team, she turned professional in 2000. Becky Morgan (born 5 September 1974) is a Welsh professional golfer who plays mainly on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour but is also a member of the Ladies European Tour. 2000 Curtis Cup
The 31st Curtis Cup Match was played on 24 and 25 June 2000 at Ganton Golf Club in Ganton, North Yorkshire, England. The United States won 10 to 8. Format The contest was a two-day competition, with three foursomes and six singles matches on each day, a total of 18 points. Each of the 18 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole extra holes were not played. Rather, each side earned a point toward their team total. The team that accumulated at least 9 points won the competition. In the event of a tie, the current holder retained the Cup.
