Kim LaSata
Kim LaSata (born April 20, 1963) is an American politician who has served in the Michigan Senate from the 21st district since 2019. Education LaSata earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Western Michigan University. LaSata earned a master's degree in literacy studies from Western Michigan University. Career On November 8, 2016, LaSata won the election and became a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives for District 79. LaSata defeated Marletta Seats and Carl G. Oehling with 58.78% of the votes. LaSata served in the Michigan House of Representatives until 2018. On November 6, 2018, LaSata won the election and became a state senator of Michigan Senate for District 21. LaSata defeated Ian Haight with 58.13% of the votes. Personal life LaSata's husband is Charlie. They have four children. LaSata and her family live in Bainbridge Township, Michigan. Michigan's 21st Senate District
Michigan's 21st Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 21st district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Democrat Sarah Anthony since 2023, succeeding Republican Kim LaSata. Geography District 21 encompasses all of Eaton County, as well as part of Ingham County. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 21, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, covered Berrien, Cass, and St. Joseph Counties in far southwest Michigan. 2016 Michigan House Of Representatives Election
An election was held on November 8, 2016 to elect all 110 members to Michigan's House of Representatives. The election coincided with elections for other offices, including U.S. President, U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. The primary election was held on August 2, 2016. There was no change in the composition of the House as Republicans retained control, winning 63 seats compared to 47 seats for the Democrats. Bainbridge Township, Michigan
Bainbridge Township is a civil township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 2,850. It was organized in 1837. The name is a transfer from Bainbridge, New York. The township is in the northeast portion of the county, with Benton Charter Township to the west, Hagar Township to the northwest, and Coloma Charter Township and Watervliet Charter Township to the north. East of the township is Keeler Township in Van Buren County. Pipestone Township is to the south, and Sodus Township to the southwest. M-140 passes north and south through the township, and Interstate 94 nips the northwest corner of the township.
