Kim Edberg Andersen
Kim Edberg Andersen-Kristoffersen (born 21 June 1973) is a Danish politician and a Member of the Folketing since 2022. Edberg completed a degree in business studies at Aalborg University. He was a member of the Danish People's Party and had been a councilor for the party in Rebild Municipality and stood as a candidate for the DPP during the 2019 Danish general election before resigning in 2021. The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. North Jutland (Folketing Constituency)
North Jutland ( da, Nordjylland) is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. It consists of the municipalities of Aalborg, Brønderslev, Frederikshavn, Hjørring, Jammerbugt, Læsø, Mariagerfjord, Morsø, Rebild, Thisted and Vesthimmerland. The Denmark Democrats ( da, Danmarksdemokraterne), officially DanmarksdemokraterneInger Støjberg, is a Danish political party founded in June 2022 by Inger Støjberg. In the 2022 election, the Denmark Democrats won 14 seats, thereby making them the 5th largest party alongside Liberal Alliance in the Folketing. History The party was founded in June 2022 by Inger Støjberg who had served variously as the minister for immigration, housing and gender equality in the Folketing for Venstre before she was impeached for misconduct in office after separating families in migrant centres and was accused of disloyalty within her party. Danish People's Party
The Danish People's Party ( da, Dansk Folkeparti, DPP/DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The DPP lent its support to the Venstre– Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. While not part of the cabinet, DPP cooperated closely with the governing coalition on most issues and received support for key political stances in return, to the point that the government was commonly referred to as the "VKO-government" (O being DPP's election symbol). It also provided parliamentary support to Lars Løkke Rasmussen's cabinets from 2016 to 2019, again without participating in it. New Right ( da, Nye Borgerlige) is a national-conservative and right-wing populist Danish political party. The party was founded in the autumn 2015 by Pernille Vermund and Peter Seier Christensen. In the 2019 general election New Right won four seats. The party has the party letter D, and its youth organisation is named Nye Borgerliges Ungdom (NBU) or in English (''New Right's Youth).'' In February 2021 the party was the third largest Danish party based on membership, only succeeded by the Social Democrats and Venstre. The party has in November the same year 18,000 members. Etymology The party's name includes the plural of the Danish word which literally translates to 'civic', derived from meaning 'citizen'. General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 1 November 2022, except in the Faroe Islands, where they were held on 31 October as 1 November was a national day of mourning for victims at sea.
