Kim Andersen (cyclist)
Kim Andersen (born 10 February 1958 in Malling, Denmark) is a former professional Danish road bicycle racer and current cycling team directeur sportif. From 2004 to 2010, he was a directeur sportif for Danish ProTour Team Saxo Bank. From 2011, he holds the same position at the Leopard Trek team. Rider In 1983 he became the first Dane to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour de France, and later won stages in that race. He has also sported stage wins in Vuelta a España, Four Days of Dunkirk, Ronde van Nederland, Midi Libre and Tour de Suisse, as well as numerous individual wins, 31 during his career. In 1984 he won the semi-classic Flèche Wallonne. Doping Kim Andersen was tested positive for doping in 1987, and was banned for life, a sentence that was later changed to a one-year quarantine. Malling, Denmark
Malling is a village in Denmark, located about south of Aarhus. It has a population of 6,194 (Jan 1, 2020). Geography Malling is situated only from the sea, surrounded by hills, swatches of farmland and patches of woodlands and meadows. The village is a railway town and the train station was one of the key elements in Malling's original growth from 1884 up until the 1970s. Malling has several green areas, with the space in front of the " SuperBrugsen" retailstore as the preferred place for general assemblies and recreation. The original town centre of Malling has been preserved, but previously important buildings such as the train station, have seen decades of decay. The Four Days of Dunkirk (french: Quatre Jours de Dunkerque) is road bicycle race around the Nord-Pas de Calais region of northern France. La Flèche Wallonne (, French for "The Walloon Arrow") is a men's professional cycle road race held in April each year in Wallonia, Belgium. The first of two Belgian Ardennes classics, La Flèche Wallonne is today normally held mid-week between the Amstel Gold Race and Liège–Bastogne–Liège. At one time, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège–Bastogne–Liège were run on successive days as "Le Weekend Ardennais" (both races are organised by Amaury Sport Organisation). The Trophée des Grimpeurs, called Polymultipliée until 1970, was a single-day road bicycle race held annually in August in the region of Val-d'Oise, France, between Argenteuil and Sannois. Danmark Rundt is a Danish stage race for professional road bicycle racers organized as a part of the UCI Continental Circuits. It is currently sponsored by the Danish national postal agency, PostNord, and the race is therefore also known as PostNord Danmark Rundt. The 2019 edition had 20 teams, with 6 riders each, participating in 5 stages. The race is sometimes called the Tour of Denmark in English language media. Course Traditionally, the race starts off on the Jutland peninsula and ends on the island of Zealand - on Frederiksberg Allé in Copenhagen. 1981 Vuelta A España
The 36th Edition ''Vuelta a España'' (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the three grand tours, was held from 21 April to 10 May 1981. It consisted of 19 stages covering a total of , and was won by Giovanni Battaglin of the cycling team. Regis Clere won the prologue of the race and kept the leader's jersey until the mountain time trial where on the very long climb to Sierra Nevada, Giovanni Battaglin won the stage and took over the leader's jersey. The only threat to Battaglin's lead was Pedro Muñoz. The entire Teka team withdrew from the race withdrawing potential favourites Marino Lejarreta and Alberto Fernández. Battaglin and his Inoxpran team withstood the challenge from the Spanish and brought Battaglin to his first grand tour victory.
