Kiltsi Linnus
Kiltsi is a small borough in Väike-Maarja Parish, Lääne-Viru County, in northeastern Estonia. At the end of the 15th century the Teutonic Knights erected a castle, which later became part of a larger one. Kiltsi Manor ( et, Kiltsi mõis) (also known as Schloß Aß, Schloss Ass, or Gilsenhof) is a knight’s manor in Väike-Maarja Parish, present day Lääne-Viru County, Estonia. It is number 16079 on the Estonian State Register of Cultural Monuments. History Kiltsi Manor is first recorded in 1466. It is believed to have been built in the 14th or 15th century in what was then Kiltsi Castle which was destroyed in the Livonian War. Lääne-Viru County ( et, Lääne-Viru maakond or ''Lääne-Virumaa'') is one of 15 counties of Estonia. It is in northern Estonia, on the south coast of the Gulf of Finland. Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, commonly known as the Teutonic Order, is a Catholic religious institution founded as a military society in Acre, Kingdom of Jerusalem. Kreis Wierland
Wierland County (german: Kreis Wierland, german: Wierlandische Kreis, et, Viru kreis, russian: Vezenbergsky uyezd, russian: Virlyandsky uyezd) was one of the four counties of the Russian Empire located in the Governorate of Estonia.
