Kilmore is a village, civil parish and townland of in County Down, Northern Ireland, about from Crossgar. It is situated in the historic baronies of Castlereagh Upper and Kinelarty. History Kilmore derives its name from the Irish word 'an Chill Mhór', meaning "the big church", as it is most famous for the historic 18th century Anglican church the building for which is now located in the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. Eighty years after the church was built in 1790, a new church was built nearby in 1870 to heal rifts within the church concerning the nature of Anglo-Catholic worship in the decades prior. Kevin Kilmore (born 11 November 1959) is an English former footballer who scored 81 goals from 334 appearances in the Football League playing for Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town, Rotherham United and Lincoln City. He played as a forward or midfielder. He also played in Belgium for K.F.C. Verbroedering Geel, but never appeared in the league, and non-League football for Gainsborough Trinity. Life and career Kilmore was born in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, where he played for Crosby Colts before joining his local Football League club, Scunthorpe United, as an apprentice. He made his debut for Scunthorpe at the age of 17, in February 1977, and played regularly for the first team thereafter. In the 1977–78 season, he was capped three times for the England youth team and scored once, in a friendly match against Hungary youth. Kilmore (Gaelic: ''A' Chille Mhór'') is a small hamlet, on the east coast of the Sleat peninsula of the Isle of Skye is in the Scottish council area of Highland. It lies on the A851 road and is southwest of Ferindonald. Sleat Parish Church (1876) is located here, with the ruins of the Old Parish Church behind (1631–1876). A former Minister Rev. Kilmore or Killmore (from the ga, Cill Mhór) is a small village, townland and civil parish in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It lies 2.5 miles (4 km) north of Richhill and within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area. It had a population of 190 people (74 households) in the 2011 Census. Kilmore () is a town in the Australian state of Victoria. Located north of Melbourne, it is the oldest inland town in Victoria by the combination of age and physical occupation, and because it had unique agricultural attributes to drive that earliest settlement. It grew very rapidly to become four times bigger than its nearest inland rival by 1851. Its spectacular growth continued to match that of the major gold mining towns of Ballarat, Bendigo and Beechworth until at least 1861.
