''Killing Peace'' is the fourth studio album by English thrash metal band Onslaught, released in 2007. It was their first album since 1989's ''In Search of Sanity'' and the first to feature Sy Keeler since 1986's '' The Force''. Critical reception Reception to ''Onslaught'' was fairly similar, with generally positive receptions noting that the album bought nothing new to the genre while being a great hit hearkening back to thrash rock of the 1980s. Onslaught (band)
Onslaught are a British thrash metal band from Bristol, England, active from 1982 to 1991 and again since 2005. The band initially drew influences from US and British hardcore punk bands such as Discharge and The Exploited, as well as the new wave of British heavy metal, and eventually adopted a straightforward thrash metal sound. They have been recognised as pioneers of the British thrash metal scene, and are often referred to as one of the country's so-called "big four", along with Sabbat, Xentrix and Acid Reign. To date, Onslaught have released seven studio albums, one compilation, four singles and two live recordings: a live album and a live DVD. Candlelight Records is a British record label based in England and founded by former Extreme Noise Terror bassist Lee Barrett, though it has had a division in the United States since January 2001. Candlelight Records specialises in black metal, and later on melodic death metal and death metal, having bands such as Emperor, Obituary, 1349, Theatre of Tragedy, Xerath, Dismember, Keep of Kalessin, Nachtmystium and Zyklon on its roster. Andy Sneap
Andy Sneap (born 18 July 1969) is an English guitarist, record producer and composer with over 100 albums to his name, most of which have been produced at his Backstage Recording studios in rural Derbyshire. Some of the most critically acclaimed production work on albums include ''Deliverance'' by Opeth and '' Disarm the Descent'' by Killswitch Engage; for which he earned a Swedish Grammis and a US Grammy nomination, respectively. As a performer, he first built his reputation as one of the guitarists in the British thrash metal band Sabbat, and played with them up until their disbanding. He is currently one of the co-guitarists of the British heavy metal band Hell. In 2018 he joined Judas Priest as a touring guitarist, following long-time lead guitarist Glenn Tipton's diagnosis of Parkinson's disease which conflicts with his touring abilities. In Search Of Sanity
''In Search of Sanity'' is the third studio album by English thrash metal band Onslaught (band), Onslaught, released in 1989. This album was originally recorded with Sy Keeler, but London Records were not impressed with the final product from a commercial point of view and enforced a re-mix and a complete re-recording of the vocals by Grim Reaper (band), Grim Reaper frontman Steve Grimmett, being the only album featuring him. It features their longest song to date "Welcome to Dying". While the album was mostly in the same thrash/speed metal vein as ''The Force (Onslaught album), The Force'', it contains a more polished sound than Onslaught's previous albums, acquiring a more progressive metal, progressive and melodic edge. Despite meeting mixed reviews by their fans, ''In Search of Sanity'' was moderately successful, peaking at number 46 on the UK charts while the single "Let There Be Rock (song), Let There Be Rock" peaked at number 50 in that country. ''Sounds of Violence'' is the fifth studio album by English thrash metal band Onslaught, released on 28 January 2011 through AFM Records in Europe and 8 February in North America. This was Onslaught's first album not to feature a new singer, as Sy Keeler remained with the band after their previous album '' Killing Peace''. In addition to standard CD formats, ''Sounds of Violence'' was also released on limited black vinyl (only 666 copies) in a gatefold sleeve and a Limited Digipack. For the Japanese release the album also featured a re-recording of "Angels of Death" and "Thermonuclear Devastation" taken from their debut album '' Power from Hell''. ''Sounds of Violence'' outsold the previous album '' Killing Peace'' in less than one year.
